Sometimes executing a task sub-optimally makes me want to try it again, which might mean jumping off a cliff or running face-first into an enemy or otherwise killing myself to reload the encounter. I think that means there are a lot of alternate universes across many games where Our Hero accidentally uses the wrong item and decides life isn't worth living anymore.
