And I can tell you what's gonna happen. They're gonna release it, it's going to be subpar at BEST, most heretics and all sane fans of FiM will hate it, and Hasbro will laugh all the way to the bank when their new Equestria Girls line of toys sells well. Hopefully this will only be contained within the movie and it doesn't turn out to be a pilot for season 4.

While I'm here though I'll say I worked Toys R Us during the holidays last year and the Monster High section was stripped barren with each shipment. If Hasbro does decide to go that route they'll have no shortage of willing wallets.

You all had to have known this would happen. Hasbro is a toy company. Even if the writers and animators of MLP want to keep things quality, Hasbro can force them to pander for cheddar and no one can stop them.

Although... at what point season-wise did they decide to make the G1 Transformers movie? Or the GI Joe movie, for that matter? Those may have been created at around the same numbered season as this MLP movie is being created.

I don't know about GI Joe, but it was in between seasons 2 and 3 that they made the Transformers movie. But they didn't turn the transformers into humans and had them attend high school with fucking principle optimus.
