yeah, but it won't be episode 1 because adultswim updates every friday with the next episode. i usually watch them from myspace video or youtube or something. thats the english sub versions though, idk if watch the english dub version.

I usually don't have a preference for subtitles or dubs. I usually use dubs for pure convenience, if they are available.

Subtitles don't really bother me anymore. My ex girlfriend used to watch all her movies with the subtitles on, so after three years of that, I got used to it. As long as it's a decent translation, I don't mind. This is coming from a guy who owns Pan's Labyrinth, too.

But anywho, I just finished episode one, and it looks awesome. It does make you think. I'm trying to decide what I'd do in Light's situation. Cleanse the world Hammurabi style and lose the right to go to Heaven or Hell, (there's no question about gods existing in that world, so Heaven would definitely be a goal) or you use it too much and start to go on a power trip, killing people on a whim. Or somebody finds out about it and decides they want it. Or, like Ryuuku said, you'd end up being the only person left. Definitely intriguing. Can't wait for episode two to finish down-- uh, I mean, I can't wait to see episode 2, whenever that will be. =]

It's not that subtitles bother me, but I'm an English native speaker, and I can concentrate more on a film or show if it's being put in front of me without the effort of reading needing to be expounded. But, yeah, I watch tons of subtitle only, foreign films. I'm a massive Satoshi Kon fan, and most of his work is put out without a dub track.

Episode one was pretty amazing, After that, it gets more and more into Lights plans. Light is one crazier than a fox teenager.

Ryuk just sits around watching because He's bored.

Ryuk is the coolest, though. He just laughs off all the crazy shit that goes on. He's a bit like the Comedian from Watchmen.

I finished the second episode last night, and I'll be watching the third in a few minutes. I love how Ryuk is just hanging out because he's bored. It must be fun to have the kind of power where you hang around to watch a teenager kill off a ton of people, reshape the world in his own image, just because you're bored.

Us ->"Hey, I'm bored, let's play some video games."

Ryuk ->"Hey, I'm bored, let's give this kid the power to kill anybody he wants."

I left it out of my earlier post, but the orchestral scene at the end of the first episode where he starts writing names in the notebook was amazing. Were they singing in Latin? That's my guess, anyway. Reminded me of that one song (I cannot think of the name of it for the life of me) from Final Fantasy VIII.

I know, that's one reason why I like him. I also think Ryuk is cute .....general to the fact, ignore my strange taste in depressing looking cartoon characters.

anyway, adultswim is coming up on episode 7 saturday, not 8. i'm correcting myself here because i don't feel like going back and editing. also, 7 is one of my favorite episodes, not 8. also, i'm going through death note withdrawal since my homework has been keeping me from it the past few days. its not as bad as ryuk's withdrawal from apples though.

7 is going to finish downloading in a few minutes. 97% now. Apparently it's a good one. I hope you guys are pop flyin'. You got me hooked. =]

I read the five word long summery on Wikipedia just now... Is that the one with the guy on the train that Light forces to use the Death Note? I think that was the last episode I watched. It's one of my favorite parts of the entire series, up there with the bit in volume 5 when Misa and Light were in the car with Light's dad.

I watched the entire series. Quite a good show, but Light is one crazy guy. The part with Takada really made me hate him. Even though I hate Takada as well...

Eh.

I like Death note, Ryuk is the best Character! Light is just plain Psychotic.

I was reading somewhere, that it was Banned in China.

I actually barely read manga because I have weird standards. The only ones I have are the ones Tuxedo Mask has sent me, which are basically all childish romance stories because those are the only ones I'll always like. I suck. :[
