Hellblazer #27 was a nice issue, I liked the message and subtext about poverty.

I have no idea where else to put it, so I'd like to point you all to this:

http://vimeo.com/58179094#

It's a video made for a bachelor's film project. It is basically just the sweetest thing ever.

Its creator has an Adventure Time pedigree so, it will go far and be pretty awesome. Sadly, that probably means that there will be fewer slots or need for awesome series like Young Justice or Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Seems like all hope for any cartoons like those rests on Toonami's hands.

Paperman is on Youtube now, so you can watch it if you haven't yet. It's nice.

I don't think toonami has enough pull to renew series

Well one day soon I hope they will. I remember reading somewhere that Genndy had expressed interest in finishing Sym-Bionic Titan.

They dont even do that, theyve ditched a few on Disney Junior and dont show the others at all. Nothing but their bullshit sitcoms EVERYWHERE

Holy crap. That seems ridiculous, but there may be some shred of reason behind it: On one hand, they're shafting animation, which is the main thing that's given them such drastic staying power. On the other hand, they may realize that in this day and age, a lot of kids just don't watch TV any more and are content with Angry Birds/Call of Duty/whatever is on their tablets or phones.

There really are a lot of garbage sitcoms on the Disney channels.

If it wasn't for Tron: Uprising and Motorcity I wouldn't go anywhere near them - as it is they put those shows on at ridiculous times of day which I find difficult to catch regularly.

Its simple, the sitcoms cost next to nothing compared to animation, while still lending themselves to merchandising. The whole tween star phenomenon in recent years means that there is almost no incentive to create new animated shows, since live action rakes in the cash for much less cost. And the kids they use on their shows are so desperate for fame that theyre basically slaves.

It's just sad; I mean, any cartoon these days that just wants to tell cool stories winds up getting shafted. I want to see some studio say "enough of this shit" and branch off to make a show independently. With things like ChipIn and Kickstarter and Youtube ad revenue, it's quite possible.

Sure, but not for TV stations, theyre ruled by the allmighty Nielsen rating, and to a lesser extent the politicking of their executives, and as such, as long as live action costs less for the same ratings, theres no incentive to change
