I found this kinda silly macrophilia comic thing earlier that read like one of those "next time on Dragon Ball Z" bits but I can't find it now.

So have some weird guy that has a weird thing for inflatable toys. I don't know if it's sexual attraction, but it is weird and it is a thing.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with the act of getting a DA account. Joining DA is not going to make your friend unoriginal and talentless; the people on DA that were like that were like that from the get-go. I've seen some really good artist on DA, and more then anything it's just Sturgeon's law at play. DA can be a good networking tool for good artist, but its also full of bad artist, sorta like life in general.

In short, unless your friend is already a hack, I don't think you have to worry about him/her suddenly using bases and uploading photos of himself to his gallery overnight.

dA is like every other art site - they all have their good and bad elements.

I did have a Tumblr account for uploading artwork - but I terminated that account because I got rustled off with my inbox being filled up with reblogged garbage that was emphatically not art; I don't consider Tumblr to be an art site in the truest sense of the word because of that issue.
