Hell, I would actually not mind this at all.

As I was reading that, all I could think was "It's technically hell...but is it really?" It'd be like one of those mini science conventions you always stumble upon after class...only without the free food to narc on.

Technically hell, but not hellatious.

Basically, it's the first level of Hades, where the good mortal souls went. It's still a sad place to be, but there's sunshine and plants, and things to see.

It's the Greek version of heaven, but it still wasn't as good as being alive or living with the Gods.

From what I've learned about how the Gods acted, living with them would be comparable to going back to high school.

Following the daily life of Greek gods was probably like watching a modern daytime drama.

The worst is poor Medusa.

Poseidon rapes her in Athena's temple (where she's a shrine maiden) even though the myth makes clear that she resisted (a very rare occurrence in Greek Myth), and Athena curses her for being raped in her holy place to become a hideous creature.

Then she helps send Perseus out to slay Medusa.

God dickery.

The sad part is, its kinda realistic in that the Greek gods acted just like real people would if they got that kind of power, in other words, like irrational, jealous, petty assholes.

Which is why there was a cycle of them being overthown. Ouranos was a dick that cast away his "ugly" creations, and so he got backstabbed by Cronus and the Titans. Cronus was a dick who didn't keep his word to release his siblings from their prison, and ate his children to keep them from rising up against him like he and his siblings did to Ouranos. Zeus made him vomit out his children (in some accounts, he ripped the stomach out of his father), castrated him, and then cut his head off to finish it. Then went on massive orgies everywhere and ate one of his legitimate kids with Hera to keep the prophesy from happening again, luckily it ended up being Athena, and everything was okay because it had to be a boy to usurp him, and Hephaestus was too much of a pussy-whipped mama's boy to rise up against Zeus.

Hestia always seemed like the pretty chill greek goddess. She didn't get into bullshit, and didn't even mind giving up her spot on Olympus to Dionysus. And she was well liked over almost all of Greece since she protected their homes and families.

Zeus is lucky that Ares was functionally retarded, or he mightve been a threat
