You're still going to hate Opportunity.

They really did make a good villain with Jack.

I liked Jack. But I really fucking hated Jack. He's probably one of the first entertaining villains I was looking forward to killing instead of going "oh, but I don't want to kill him/her." I didn't want to kill Piston, and I didn't want to fight Scarlett, even though they both betray you

Every time he came on the Echo device I went "wow fuck you" while also going "haha Jack."

It was a combination of laughing and weeping through out the game for me.

Get both. Specifically get the GotY edition of the first one. Since old characters return for the second it's a lot more exciting to play.

Well, not that the second isn't enjoyable just on it's own. But I noticed that my partner and I were spazing at bits because we knew what happened in the previous game, while our friend who hadn't played the first game was amused but didn't always know why something was so interesting or funny.

I'm not picking up the first because apparently the story is nowhere to be found in it.

i've not played the first one, but according to my fiance who is super nitpicky about games, the first one is really really fun but the end sucks. so like a BONES anime.

so it seems like its worth a play if you don't mind an ending of tentacles and disappointment

So that update happened, and Hyperius and Gee are now level 32 in Normal Mode.

Is Gee supposed to be invincible? Because when I fight him, his health just slowly drains while I can't hurt him.

It's a Level 50 Siren vs. a level 32 Pirate and I keep on dieing to the acid.

The acid is really bad, stand in it too long and you 'absorb' it, putting a debuff on you and making you loose your health constantly. You need to kite Gee around so he is the one in the acid pools and the one getting de-buffed and hurt.
An acid proof sheild will help a lot.

Also did they patch the bee? Those worthless sacks of anal puss.

The first one is indeed lacking in story, it feels like it's going somewhere but it doesn't. It all gets explained in the next game (though I wouldn't really call it reconning).

It was still fun as hell and I think the second one was a lot more exciting because I had played the first. Admittedly I would recommend playing with a friend as part of the appeal for me was doing things as a team. Also some tasks are a pain on one's own.

Yeah, some of the timed missions and big bosses are fucking stupid, but with a friend they can be done really quickly/whittled down without their health restoring.

Doing the timed missions like the mail delivery has got to be a breeze with a full party, set everybody in place and start the mission.

Mail delivery was easy, even without clearing the place out. Once I learned the mailbox locations I blitzed through without dying once then shot my way out after grabbing the treasure chests.
