This is why digital books are terrible.

eBooks are great and just because you have a fetish for paper doesn't mean you can diss them

Besides the above-mentioned "paper fetish" thing, there aren't many advantages physical books have over digital ones.

But my Kindle will never offer me the scent of a fresh new book!

At least my books don't use up electricity and I can read them while being out of the house without fear of them turning off.

Actual ereaders have very low power consumption. I use my tablet which has an acceptable battery life.

Also goddammit I don't know what to do after I've finished the first Witcher book because for whatever reason they skipped translating the second one into English and went straight for the third one so my only chance to read it would be loaning the Finnish translation from the library and I really don't want to read fantasy in Finnish. Especially a book from a series I otherwise plan on reading in English.

I recently read "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift. Here.

Just finished reading "Cold Days" and it was awesome.

One of the best moments was Harry punching out Santa Claus.

Started reading the Ranger's Apprentice series from book um 5, it all makes sense to me though since Five is when he becomes a ranger, so I'll just read those ones and then see his childish adventures.

Also the Sea of Monsters tells you almost the whole plot of the first book in a few chapters.

Actually, I disagree. Books, and print media in general, are one of the exceedingly few egalitarian forms of media. A book is an autonomous, self contained cultural artefact. I don't need to install it, I don't need to log in to an account, I don't need to put it into a book player or plug it into a TV or even the power mains at all. This is even ignoring that you can't lend somebody an e-book; I give books to people to read all the time, and some of the ones I've borrowed have become my favourites.

This is also why libraries are never going to disappear. Become less prevalent, certainly, and probably smaller as well, but never disappear entirely. Print books are a lot more important than people give them credit for. They aren't going to suddenly become irrelevant overnight because amazon discovered pdfs.

Every single library I go to also offers E-books. You can lend them.
