A lot of old rock bands have gotten back together and released new material over the past couple of years and it makes me so excited.

I've really been getting into atmospheric black metal lately.
What's also amusing is that despite only containing 4 songs, this album is an hour long.

Countries by metal bands per capita

Interesting stuff. Finland is at the top with 53 bands per 100k people. Shame I can't easily compare raw data but for comparison, when divided by the population, Finland has around 10 times more metal bands than the US.

The Wombats and Imagine Dragons made me discover an unexpected love for indie/alternative rock bands who write melancholic but at times hopeful songs about deep human problems. Can't say that it bothers me. I also like how they remind me of old 80's pop songs.
