I picked Kaiden back in ME1 because I liked how he used his head, opposed to how Ashley used her heart.

I was quite glad to see that he became quite a cool bro in the third game, although that was an uncomfortable moment when he tried to hook up with me.

Really? I always saw Kaiden as bodaciously the only member of the crew who didn't get all up in your face with his problems, even when you did ask about them.

Except it made him feel flat and boring. Why give him this interesting story if it's not going to be told in an interesting way? If he's not invested somehow, then I can't get invested somehow, which means I don't care about him.

I do have to say that some of my favorite parts of the Mass Effect series was when it suddenly became Persona 3 and I suddenly cared about the attack drones and their feelings.
