Figured one topic would be good to condense the sales.

Personally I'm waiting to see if Borderlands 2 + Season Pass are going to get any cheaper. You can play Steam-bought games off Steam right? Mostly just getting them to sit on until I get my new rig.

Did you drop a word there or something? Yes, that's the entire point of Steam.

I'm not particularly waiting for any game and I still haven't played many games from the previous sales so I'll try to abstain from buying any new ones.

I meant "off" in the sense of "away." As in can I buy a game on Steam and play it without booting up Steam?

Ah, right. Yeah you can though you have to set up offline mode first, I think.

Oh man oh man I have 5 dollars left in my Steam Wallet.
Considering buying either Fallout 1, Fallout 2, or Morrowind (hated Skyrim, thought Oblivion was boring, but Morrowind is reccomended?).
Any recommendations?

AHHHHHHHHH :psyduck:
Star Wars Battlefront® II for half off(now $5)

http://store.steampowered.com/app/6060/

I was considering buying this a few weeks ago, and this was just the nudge I needed to actually do it.

Depends on the game. If it has Steamworks like skyrim and every single valve game, no.

Offline mode still counts as booting up steam.

edit: Borderlands 2 does have Steamworks, so you do have to boot up Steam

Ohh shit. I might have to consider buying that.

... on the other hand, Pandemic is long dead and SWBF3 never got past the early alpha phase and pseudo development hell so it doesn't really matter.

Oh right, I figured he meant being able to play the games without an online connection since that's the first thing many people ask. No, you can only do that with games from GOG, Steam requires you to boot it up to play.

Yeah, this is part of the reason I leave my comp/steam on all the time. If my connection takes a crap while I'm sleeping or out of the house, I can still boot up my single player games like the fallout, portal, half life, etc etc.

Bleh. Guess I'll just get Borderlands 2 for Xbox 360. None of the DLC has added anything meaningful like level cap raise so I don't need that. Plus I can get Xbox Live Gold for a buck according to the offer on my dash.

I was looking at that but then I realized I already own the games on the list that I care about and I know next to nothing about the rest, plus I have no time to play a dozen indie games.

Dang, there are like... so many games on sale, the front page doesn't even say.

Seems like all the Lego games(Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc) are $10, down from $20.
