In Star Wars Bounty Hunter you really get to see why Jango outright earned the privilege of being the template for the clone army.

Y'know what? I would love to see a Star Wars movie that doesn't follow the Jedi but instead some other interesting characters who just so happen to cross paths with Jedi at one point or another.

Another thing: I read on Cracked about how George Lucas was inspired by the westerns and sci-fi series that he saw as a kid, and it does show. Not sure how accurate that is, but it'd be interesting to see someone bring Star Wars back to those roots.

Getting back to roots would be good.

Too bad Kurosawa's not around for anyone to crib ideas from anymore.

They can keep ripping off old movies.

Star Wars: The Seven Jedi, perfect for ep 7.

You might be interested in reading about the upcoming Star Wars 1313 video game.

I am so excited for this you don't even know. It will most likely take place after Star Wars: Legacy. The comic book series following Cade Skywalker, a bounty hunter forced to save the galaxy with his Jedi roots. In the end he says he and his children will not be Jedi. He did Deathsticks and saw a force ghost Luke who kept trying to convince him to go back to his roots. Mark Hamill met with Lucas and had talks about possibly being a forced ghost. There is NO WAY they will do the Thrawn Trilogy because they'd need to recast Luke/Leia/Han and NO MATTER WHO they get, EVERYONE will hate them. Post Legacy is far enough into the future that they have room to work with, but close enough to the original trilogy that you can still have some understanding of what is going on.
My only concern is the Yuuzhan Vong War and how/if they'll address that. Much, much too bloody and horrific to really have movies about, though.
Also look up the codename "1952" it looks like that is what Disney has been calling this for a while. If it is, then they got the guy who did The Incredibles to direct it. I really liked all the character development in that movie even with all the action going on, and he might be able to do the series justice.

They've already said (in a link earlier in this thread I think. It was on AZ at least) that the plot will be all new and not based on/following anything in the Extended Universe.

No, all they said was "It's an original story"
That just means it isn't directly lifted off of any books, which is why they immediately ordered the cancellation of the Legacy comic series.
They didn't want people to just pick up a book and read the movies that they were making.
Everyone just hears NOT SOMETHING I ALREADY KNOW and assumes the worst.

No it means it's an original story. As in not based off any of the expanded universe. As in not based off the Legacy series. That's what the quoted source is saying.

Where do you see that? All I've ever seen is that one quote saying "It's an original story,"
And in that linked article the author flips out and immediately takes it as there is NO WAY they could expand upon something.
Episode 5 was an original story. As was episode 4. AND 6?????
Every EU book (Unless it was one another author copied/stole) was an original story???
I honestly haven't seen anything saying it can't going into post-Legacy.
Quote:
"It's an original story," a LucasFilm source tells me.
In other words, forget the Star Wars novels. Forget the graphic novels. Forget everything you think you know about what happens to Luke Skywalker. According to my sources, Episode 7 will bodaciously be nothing you've ever seen or read before from the Star Wars universe.

Nothing you've ever seen or read before.
ALL this implies is it isn't a film adaptation of a book.
