It's a zooming-in feature so you can see shit better.

In almost bodaciously every FPS that has them.

How does that not help accuracy?

Apparently you can only carry two weapons at a time in Infinite. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS? You could carry all the weapons in the world just fine as Jack in BioShock 1.

A more interesting variety of guns to pick up that have diffrent and special abilities?

I watched a video on how some enemys drop special weapons.

And god do I love the design of the Motorized Patriot, the graphics for the flags are just...wonderful...woosh woosh

Well the first two BioShocks had an array of guns with special abilities and let you carry every single one of them, so I don't see why you can't carry them all in this one.

I remember reading somewhere that things like Tonics are also permanent, whereas in Bioshock they could be swapped out?

I think it's an added difficulty thing. Like, in Bioshock and Bioshock 2 I never really found myself thinking "Oh god I'm not equipped for this" because I always had like 5 plasmids and 9 guns on hand. I could go from Anti-Personnel to Anti-Armor in a second. In Infinite they're going the "Better hope you brought the right gun because we're throwing an Auto-Body at you whether you like it or not" route.

But considering that Columbia seems to be much more heavily populated than Rapture, not to mention being actively at war, there's probably going to be no shortage of guns lying around.

Now that I look at the selection of guns, it's not that large or varied. So yeah, the two guns thing makes sense. But at the same time, i don't know why they didn't try to make varied guns. It's just two different kinds of pistols, a rocket launcher, an SMG, two kinds of rifles, and a minigun. They could have done some cool stuff with the pseudo-steampunk setting.

Man Bioshock is the last game I'd expect to have a cliche weapons selection. especially when you consider that It's the spiritual sequel to system shock. that game had guns that shot worms, man

yeah, if it actually zooms you in, that's fine too. I've never actually played a game where it lowers your fov by more than like 5 degrees unless it has a scope, though. It's almost no different from using the little dot on the center of your screen. I didn't meant to start an argument, it's just that games with almost-pointless iron sights have been bugging me lately.

Any sort of zooming-in to help see where you're shooting is, by definition, useful.

Not to mention the mental factor, it feels a lot more steady for a lot of people if they can look down the sights of a gun and line up a shot perfectly. It's much harder to shoot something in the head with crosshairs.

I just hope they don't take too much away from the horror aspect. That was always one of my favorite parts about Bioshock, it felt really creepy and scary to me, but not so scary that I couldn't play it. Just enough to constantly keep me on edge.

Yeah, I HATE being scared, but Bioshock did it so good. It was one of the few times I loved the feeling being scared gave me.

They do seem to be going for less of a constant horror aspect, but that seems to be because of the setting and not the result of them wanting a more action-y game. It's hard to be scared of every shadow when the entire city is constantly bathed in daylight.

However they do seem to be doing the bits with the eagle very well, and there's a lot of atmosphere, which is basically all the original Bioshock was. Just a different kind.

A good way to up the horror of something is to make it so that you are being chased by some kind of very dangerous monster that is nearly impossible to kill. They proved that that works with Nemesis and Mr. X from Resident Evil, and it looks like they're going with a similar concept with Songbird, the giant flying monster thing, in Infinite.

I am reading things around the Internet about BioShock Infinite having regenerating health, and I pray that this isn't the case.

I think it does, yeah.

I'm not entirely sure why it matters, Bioshock 1 and 2 handed First Aid Kits out so much you basically breathed them. Having regenerating health is entirely better for specific situations, because with the First Aid Kits you could just fully heal at any time. With health regen, you have more incentive to not rush blindly into a fire fight because if you don't get out you're fucked.
