I don't think we've had one of these before. First, the rules:

First, I will post a song, in the form of a link. The next person along will listen to the song, write a short review (about a paragraph or so), score it in some arbitrary way (A+-F-, out of 10, out of 100, whatever) and then post their own song. You ONLY get the right to post a new song in the chain if you listen to and review the song before. Check to see no one has posted before you! Don't just post videos! You are free to discuss and argue about people's views outside of this format, but try and keep the chain unbroken and single-stranded. In order to actually make this an interesting thread, and let me bold this in caps, ONLY REVIEW SONGS YOU'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE. Also, to facilitate this, when posting your own song, PICK A SONG YOU THINK NOT EVERYONE WILL HAVE HEARD.

It builds up steadily, from some creepy guys singing around a campfire with an acoustic guitar in the background.
They pack their shit up and head to a slow desperate climb and finishing it off with a malevolent crescendo, and then slowly back down.
Finishing off where they started. At least that's what i see.

I like the silly vocalizations in the beginning, and the fact they play around with the style throughout the song. Their insights on the different styles kind of fall in with the theme of the song itself: "Whatever happened to original style?" The disco "flubs" are hilarious as well. They clearly display a mastery of a multitude of musical styles though.

7/7 asses, would listen to again

Haha, never imagined Ome Henk was known in non-Dutch countries. Waiting for a song I haven't heard.

Catchy little beat, decently powerful vocals. And then I realise I've already heard this, but w/e. The chorus is memorable, and the electronic sound shines through here. Cool clip too.

Didn't like the male vocals but the parts with female vocals were pretty cool. Maybe a bit too simple compared to the kind of electronic stuff I listen to but I could see myself listening to this as background music or something. 7/10

Rather upbeat and enjoyable. The beat reminds me of a faster version of "Santeria" by Sublime. The vocals could use some work, they sound rather whiny at times, but I liked the chorus parts (not chorus as in refrain, but when multiple band members joined in for the singing) and the solo was rather good and didn't sound forced, it fit with the beat of the song quite well. It was kind of bland in the fact that there wasn't much variation from the back-beat, but all in all a well put together song.

5/7 asses

I'm not really a big fan of musicals, but I kind of know that song because of how famous it is. It's very glam-rock (to me) and I didn't really like the lyrics - perhaps if I watched it live I'd like it? Some parts were a bit too dramatic for me. 5/10

This is a really hard choice but I think I'll choose Lana Del Rey - Carmen. It's quite a sad, slow song about socialites such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton who lead empty lives. Um if you're in a pop flyin' mood this'll probably get a low score, aha.

I've actually been becoming quite a fan of Lana Del Rey recently and I enjoyed this song. I took the liberty of listening to the not-music video version because I found the vid distracting, ad I relly liked it. She has such a distinctive voice and a way with words you don't hear as much these days. Good sound and enjoyable melody.

Sorry not giving an arbitrary score or whatever the fuck

Here's a Fitz and the Tantrums song because I cannot suck their dicks enough I guess!!!!

I like the piano at the start, mellow and melodic. Vocals aren't really my thing, sound kind of off. The sax adds a relaxing feel to the track. I do like the girl's voice. Overall a good song, not completely for me though. Scores are for squares.

I liked it. Reminds me a lot of God Is An Astronaut, and it had a good flow to it, I didn't even realize it was 7 minutes until it had ended. 10/Banana

That was surprisingly catchy and different. Would make a bus trip that much more enjoyable. I give it a neat/cool.

That song sounds pretty dark, and the video is fitting. I didn't really understand much of it, but I did like the singer using a light bulb as a mic. This isn't really my kind of music, but it's enjoyable, and seems pretty emotional. I can't judge the quality of the lyrics, of course, but the singing and the music were both good, if a bit repetitive - though the repetitiveness fits with the darker vibe I got from this song.

I'd give this song 8 kisses out of 10.

That was farily upbeat and very cool sounding. Personally it sounds like a song that would be in a video game; either a "final level" music or a "final boss" music, it's that grand. You can clearly tell the musicians are getting into the song, which makes it that much more enjoyable. That is some cuhrazy piano work, and I love it. Not very often does a song keep me listening for longer than 4 minutes, let alone 11. The only complaint I really have is that sometimes the drums didn't fit very well with the song, but it was quickly rectified. Around 7:15 I started worrying that the song was getting repetitive, but then 9:36 hit and restored my faith in this song. Truly a magnificent piece.

88/88 piano keys
