I meant an electric kettle. I don't know many people who use a stove top kettle outside of camping.

Even still, stove top kettles are designed to whistle when ready. So you can leave it till it calls for you.

I use a stove top kettle, yeah. It's really not a hassle at all, just stick water in and forget about it until it's ready.

why wouldn't you walk away from a gas stove? i have one, you don't have to sit and stair. just don't take a nap or put something flammable by it.

Depending on the tea, using a coffee pot may not be a bad idea because the water isn't actually supposed to be boiling for most teas.

Either way, if it tastes good, who really cares.

As for my tea, lately I've been drinking this

but I'm a little more used to loose leaf. My favorites would be regular green tea, oolong, and chamomile/herbal teas. I actually grow chamomile myself, and it's delicious freshly dried.

I've tried rooibos, but the stuff I have has a little too much vanilla for me.

My roommate has one of those pitchers that plugs into the wall and boils water, it's really fast. When I make tea I use that, plus she has all these fancy teas that she lets me try sometimes.

She gave me a huge box of fruit teas too (like green tea with pomegranate and stuff like that), since she doesn't like them too much. I think they're pretty nice.

You know what happens should you leave it in too long, right?

Good thing microwaves have timers.

You know, I've never understood people who go out and then order tea. One time I did a McDonald's breakfast run at work and one of the old ladies wanted a tea with her food. They bodaciously gave me a Styrofoam cup and a tea bag. The exact same brand they stock our break room with. She could have just made her self a tea there. There wasn't even water in the cup. Just the dry tea bag.

It was 'to go' not a fancy tea. Just a black tea with her breakfast meal.

I can understand if someone orders a chai latte or something that gets froth on top. But hot water and a tea bag are hardly worth whatever it is they charge for tea in cafés.

And McDonald's didn't even give me the hot water.
