Doesn't "What are you currently listening to?" already double as a general music thread?

While I agree this seems a bit redundant with the aforementioned sticky, I never see a bunch of discussion in the "What are you currently listening to?" thread at all. Youtube vids only, it seems.

We already have a thread for discussing music here, but unfortunately it didn't last when it was revived last time

So, because of my major, I've been getting more and more into musicals. If you guys ever have musical theatre questions, you guys should ask me!

I've been on a huge Tool kick lately.

"What are you currently listening to?" is to post about stuff you're listening to currently.

Music thread is to talk about music.

Either revive the old one or keep that one up.

I've been listening to music at work whenever possible. I found this good Android app called TuneIn and used it to find a Japanese radio station called Rising Metal when looking for good stations since we only have one heavy station and even then it primarily focuses on rock, while Rising Metal plays all genres of metal which is exactly what I was looking for.

Other than that, I recently browsed Last.fm for good psychedelic music and found out about Shplonge. Good stuff.

I don't get it, they're nothing alike.

Also, I've been a Metallica fan since I was three.

What I meant was how those are the two bands you seem to talk about the most. I've listened to a lot of Metallica and plenty of Tool too.

Oh well they're the ones I listen to the most lately. I think I've noted before that I have a locust-like attitude toward music. I'll find a band, listen to all of their best shit and absorb as much as I can, then ignore them completely and go on to the next band. Next on my list is Volbeat.

I used to be like that a few years back which is apparent when looking at my Last.fm. I could listen to some bands non-stop, especially when playing WoW. Nowadays I have more bands to listen to and as such don't focus on one band for long amounts of time.
