majority of american debt is domestic anyway, it's like 4 or 3 trillion in debt for china which takes up the majority of international debt, followed by japan i think with 2 trillion
if i can remember correctly, it's the stuff that looks after veterans that the proprietor of some 40 (???) trillion debt, because apparently the department of defense can borrow from itself

I'm entirely serious, I've never actually looked into what US independence is about. I'd say I'm pretty poor when it comes to American history in general, partially attributed to its low profile in our history curriculum.

It's about the day when our country proclaimed through the Declaration of Independence it's independence from Britain.

ok long story short

america was a british colony
then taxes
then we were like "fuck you we're gonna be our own daisies country"
and then britain was like "hey get back here"
and then we're like "NO"
and then here was a war and america won and now WE ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, GOD BLESS AMERICA

And somewhere in between that there was the war of 1812
And Canada burned down the white house

Colonial america was getting taxed to shit, we had no say in it. "No taxation without representation", so the colonies rebelled. Won the Revolutionary War, we celebrate that today.
