[[Gotta agree. I understand your eagerness to get a good conversation in, but please let Angie and I control our characters the way we want to control them.]]

He hadn't said anything about an appointment, though she supposed it was none of her business. She wasn't so interested in finding out, either--her head was killing her--but she was too familiar with Jade to be rude and ignore him.

"Yeah, there was a cave out near the city? Some weirdo my boss is, but she has my paycheck there for me. Don't ask why." Jade didn't quite get it himself. "I really /should/ look, just in case some jerk decides to mess with it." He sighed a bit, rubbing his shoulder muscles.

Despite Jade specifically saying 'don't ask why', Galiena couldn't resist butting in with more commentary. "What, you running some kind of drug cartel?" she asked playfully, poking him in the chest. "Going to make a delivery and pick up the payment, hmm? What's your weapon of choice--morphine? Cannabis? Artificial sweetener?"

"No!" Jade protested, mashing his lips together. "No, it's just that...my boss is eccentric. She likes to make us search for our paycheck. Says it builds character or whatever BS." He rolled his eyes a bit, shrugging. "Beats me to know why."

"Ugh." Galiena rolled her eyes, reverting back to her usual no-nonsense attitude. "Whatever. I'm fairly certain you've got every reason to file a grievance with her, in that case. That's your salary she's toying with and if someone steals it, you'll have to cancel it and go through a whole annoying rigamarole." She took one of her dice out of her pocket and started idly tossing it into the air and catching it. "...I'll help you look," she offered. "But only because I can tell you're practically dead on your feet."

"Thanks," Jade said. "Turning into an elf, then a person who turns into a panting furbeast can kind of take a lot out of a person, yeah." They continued walking away from the hospital, slowly making their way to the main street that led to the gates.
"I'm definitely gonna have a talk with her on Tuesday," he added.

[I feel like the worst kind of person. I've never done a forum RP before. I took my enthusiasm too far and now I'm too sad to write. I'm really sorry.]

There was a bright flash right in front of Jade and Galiena, and a strange sound with it. When it faded, the familiar shape of the gold-and-green man from the casino stood before them.

"You are late for your appointment," the man said coolly, "We have some things to discuss... if you have the time! Great Scott! The puns are contagious!"

"...what." Jade stared, blank-faced at the man. "Wait...are you the guy who kept calling my name? back at the casino?"
So, he wasn't dead. He guessed that was a good thing. Too bad he didn't have that metal pack to give back to him.

"You are correct! I'm CAPTAIN FORTÉ! And I need to talk to you about preserving the flow of time!" the man stated as though he actually knew what he was talking about.

He probably did, but who knows. He looked like a basket case anyways.

"Uh..." Jade raised an eyebrow. "Listen, I've been into contact with more than one suspicious person today--how am I supposed to believe you?" he asked. "Time travel seems pretty ridiculous, even for me." In a novel, it was plausible. The real world? Hardly.
"Besides, why me?"

[sorry for the short posts, everyone, it might be like this for a while. There's no real other way to do this for now.]

[~As long as it's contributing to the storyline and not just rambling :P]

Zephiur pulled his mechanical arm off of the strap he was carrying it with and set it down for the moment. "I just need to cool off and get my bearings for a moment.." he said, walking over and sitting on one of the benches before looking up at the proprietor. "Is that alright with you?" he asked.

Galiena, standing next to Jade, folded her arms and stared coolly down the bridge of her nose at the strange character. "...Captain, right," she sniffed. "Well, 'Captain', I regret to inform you that I have no interest in your silly games--time travel, honestly? You expect us to believe that schtick?" She pursed her lips distastefully as she remembered the pack he had left with her earlier in the day. She hadn't had much of an option when it came to taking the lunky-looking thing with her, seeing as she had been trying to get medical aid for someone at the time. "I had to leave your machine behind at the...casino. Sorry."
She didn't sound sorry at all.

"That's perfectly fine, young lady! I've already gotten it back in about two hours!" Forté replied, receiving another stern look from the girl, "As for your proof, you will have your answer in 3... 2... 1..."

"Hello again, future me!" Past Forté said as he stepped up to the hospital, carrying a comically large fish.

"Sorry, but this is your first time meeting our Past Self," Future Forté responded, "You have yet to go back and talk to myself. What is that fine fish I am carrying?"

"Why, it's a herring! I told ourselves that Simmons had lost her memory, and that only a herring to the head can cure it!"

"Fantastic! You will have to remember to tell that to us, and by 'us' I mean 'yourself'."

"But future me! If we came from the future, wouldn't you know that already, seeing as I have already been told about it twice?"

"That is a good point! Perhaps we forgot? You will have to remember to remind ourselves about that earlier today!"

The two, or one, depending on how you look at it, stopped their, or his, hivemind babbling and turned towards the two companions that were so crucial to the completely-unnecessary-yet-entirely-necessary sequence of past events. They, or 'he', were met with blank expressions. He, or they, couldn't tell if the two were amazed, confused or Irish.

Probably the latter.

[I suggest putting this all in a Google Docs when we finish, so future, or past, generations can see it.]

Zephiur shook his head. "Nah, bar's a bit too rowdy for what I was goin' for." he said, his tone and vernacular distinctly Mekanosian. He accepted the map gratefully, "Thank ya, just what I needed." He stood up and slung the arm around his shoulder again before heading back out into the night. When he got outside the store, he looked around to check if anyone was watching, and then snapped his fingers, conjuring up two spheres of contained fire that started to orbit him in a circular fashion, each one providing light for when the other was gone. Using this artificial light, Zephiur looked at the map and found he was heading north through the city from the southwestern side. He sighed and rolled up the map, placing it in his satchel; this was going to be a long walk. Unless...

Zephiur pondered for a second. For the entire time he knew he was an Eterni, he'd only been able to create fire. And manipulate it. He looked down at his boots. So far he'd only used them for rocket jumping in safe places, because the resulting fire could start an inferno if used near a home or stall or what have you. "Perhaps.." he thought, "Perhaps it's not just fire I can control?" he mused over this faux-revelation for a bit, and then decided to test his idea out. He reached out and grabbed one of the spheres of fire. It was warm to the touch, but didn't burn his hand because he could control how hot it was..

"Of course!" he exclaimed, his expression dawning with realization. He couldn't control fire specifically, but he could control heat; as such he can create and manipulate fire at will. Zephiur laughed at his realization and extinguished the flames, causing it to go dark once again. This new power would allow Zephiur to use his rocket boots more freely and in a greater variety of ways. The possibilities astounded him. For now, though, he decided to use his boots in a way he knew how; high-jumps. He tested a few times, jumping and heating the air under through his boots for long enough to propel him upwards. The first few times he was unable to control the heat generation very well so they ended up becoming rocket launches, but after about four tries total he was able to high-jump with minimal fire, and after six tries he could successfully high-jump without causing a spark of fire. There were probably more ways he could toy with his boots, but he'd have to test those out when he wasn't in an area where his tests could potentially destroy something.
