Look, I wasn't complaining about it. I just think the videos could be more entertaining without them, I was not saying about the credits themselves. Sure, as you said, people can just leave after the comic is over and not even see the credits, I agree with that.

What I'm trying to say is that what I was really trying to get into, was the extra time about things that aren't about the comic, again, not about the credits themselves. Maybe you could have really misunderstood that by the way I said that, so oh well.

Also, in the theater explanation thing, I was just trying to give you a reason to not let those more seconds in the end of it.

No, you want people to facebattle your booty. Everytime someone posts a critism, valid or otherwise, you get your panties in a bunch about it.

Riiiight, right right right, because all your opinions matter that much to me.

But I'll bite, so far I haven't really flamed anybody except for this. And this was for a valid reason thank you very much. Laugh at my supposedly bad voice acting, I'll laugh with you. Criticize my dubs, sure, why not. I honestly could care less at this point what people on this forum think. If I appear to be a slanderous little git, just remember, it's only because you guys take things way too seriously and don't really want to enjoy something, you want to criticize the living hell out of it.

I'm not going to be all polite and say "Yeah, thanks and I'll think about that and make appropriate changes." Forgive ME for debating with people. Forgive ME for actually having a freaking OPINION on OTHER OPINIONS.

Look at the very first post, does it say anywhere that I wanted criticism? No? I wonder why. Because I didn't WANT criticism, this was a new thing for me, my first time doing something and I was doing it more for fun than professionally.

And yet, the second and third posts were judgmental and just plain rude.
Posts like this are why I'm not really as looking forward to making dubs as I was before I posted here on the forums.
I CAN take criticism, as long as it's logical. I offer up an example:

leradny wrote:
The actual quality of the voices aren't too bad, but everyone's pacing is extremely sluggish. Also, there wouldn't be a problem with having just three people on your team if it didn't sound like there were just three people. I'm not holding it against you, since you're not professional or anything, but you could try for some variety. There are more differences between voices than accents and gender.

That, in my opinion, is the best critique I will ever recieve on here. It's not flatout flaming, it highlights the good point and the bad ones. I took this one to heart really simply because it offered the greatest advice without being prudish or otherwise rude.

Also, Bacon, I love how you erased the rest of my post where I explicitly stated I wasn't trying to bash anyone for anything, I was just advising against illogical complaints. But I'm not some docile puppy, I will rise to insults that say I'm some selfish, prideful, over zealous person. I'm NOT, or so I like to think.

*sigh* Anyway, does anybody know how I can get this thread off the front page? I think I'm done here on the forums. Heck, get this thread locked or whatever.

Okay, serious points now:

* I don't think you pace your dubs very well, or at least the timing of the lines is a little off. Work on that.
* Ham it up a bit - it doesn't hurt to go overboard with the voice acting every now and again. Think William Shatner.
* Work on different styles of voices, but also different ways of talking, two different people can say an identical sentence in two very different ways. Practice that.

As a final point, I don't think Katie's comics are ideal for dubbing, They are a visual media designed to be read. Dubbing them takes something away from that - you're imposing your own view of the pace of the comic on a listener/viewer which kind of rubs me up the wrong way.

Maybe you could develop your own scripts which are designed to be presented alongside your own artwork stills via a slideshow-type video thing like you've been trying to do with Katie's comics.

I'm not a person who enjoys crushing creativity in any form, but if I don't like something or think it can be done a whole lot better I'll say it. When I criticise stuff I'm trying to encourage that person to work harder or come at something from a different angle.

So basically, not great, not awful, keep trying, be original.

... eh...eh...*twitch*
Ya know, I could've used that a WHOLE LOT EARLIER FROM YOU.
MADE ME THINK YOU WERE A TROLL AND EVERYTHING UP UNTIL THIS POINT.

Anyway, all of that duly noted and GREATLY appreciate the fantastic critique. But, as for developing my own artwork to be ideal for dubbing, believe me, I may be a pretty good writer but as a visual artist I... I would make people's eyes BLEED.

If you're worried about your artworking skills you could just use generic stills of characters (if you want to stick with videogame characters).

This always cracks me up - it's pretty much the same image of Duke Nukem over and over again but it works!

You could even use images from completely different sources, but it'd probably be easier if you use official Nintendo artwork because you'd only have to credit Nintendo at the end, rather than a load of individual dA artists or something.

Cry moar. People are going to post critisms whether you like it or not, especially on a forum like this. Instead of QQing about, you could take some of the valid critisms to heart.

But whining about it totally works too. You're definitely going to improve that way.

lol, if nothing else this just shows that you can't read or you honestly just can't look at facts. This conversation is done, you fail at research, go bug somebody else. I don't mean you won't post more, you're free to, obviously, but you've ceased to be a person and have become just an ignorant little zit which I will ignore.
