Okay, reviving this thread for two reasons: firstly we have a bunch of new regular members, and it's been a year since the last post, so maybe you guys have acquired some new gentlemanly wares. (I may also love this thread, okay.)

Secondly, for semi-relevance, I was recently told of a book called The Gentlemen of Bacongo.

ourafrica.tumblr.com wrote:
“The Gentlemen of Bacongo” is a book Released in 2009, by Photographer Daniele Tamagni. The book features a subculture in the Congo where men express their creativity through their clothing. They are part of a cultural movement called Le Sape “a clique of extraordinarily dressed dandies from the Congo. Despite years war and abject poverty, these men dress in tailored suits, silk ties, and immaculate footwear.

Here are some cool photos:

Oh man I remember this thread

that is a pretty ballin movement. I seem to recall reading about a similar group in Japan?

In terms of new gentlemanly wears I have been lax

Picked up a nice safari jacket on the cheap from j peterman

and got a brown pinstripe two piece tailored at a quick and dirty Vietnamese seamstress

had an interview at a suit joint the other day that went exceedingly well, and oh man if I get a piece of those staff discounts yeaaaaaaa boiiiiiiiiiiii

Aw man, awesome grabs. I don't see many people rockin' the safari jacket, which is a shame.

If you get that job at the suit store I'm pretty sure it'll be less "working for cheddar" as it is "working for more suits". I hope you get that job, I saw you mentioning it before and it sounds like it would be perfect.

This thread is interesting but needs more photos of people modelling their spoils.

Or conversely photos of cool stuff for dudes.

Same, but obviously for a different character.

I need to research about suits and gentlemen's clothing if I'm gonna make the older version of my character a dapper older gentleman.

Are there men's clothes specifically tailored to stocky figures? That might be an area to look into. Sadly, I don't have any particular links to give, I'm not a connoisseur of men's clothes.

As I say that, I do have a habit of pulling of menswear off the internet that I think is pretty cool and/or interesting. Some of it is in lieu with what Dire posted - one of them is actually from the same collection, by designer Sylvain Nuffer - but I do not know who designed them. If anyone happens to know fill me in and I'll edit this post with the information.

Some of these might be something you'd classify as "douchey"? I don't know, don't care too much - I just appreciate the variety this(/these) designer(s) is able to insert.
