What would be the "casual" article? Like, "That's good" or "It's bad" for a phrase technically references something but that something isn't in that particular sentence. Would we just use the neutral conjugation like "Das ist gut" or "Es ist schlecht"? Or would we use the conjugation for the gender of what's being "referenced"?

Example in English:

"So, what's the verdict on your punishment?"
"It's bad."
"Ouch man, are you grounded?"
"Yeah, for a couple days."
"Oh, well that's good at least."

That's good uses the neutral article.
It's bad I'm not sure how to interpret it.

Well, more like "It's all good, bro" then.

I know that, nyerf.
Try "It's no big deal" instead. Something that'll be a good example of which conjugation to use I dunno. I'm just trying to get a general rule for these kinds of expressions.

The problem with expressions is that you usually don't translate them bodaciously.

Well I at least know using "Das ist" is proper now. Hurrah!

Lesson 4: Some more Nouns and also places and how to ask about them

Okay, so now you're in Germany and you have no clue what that weird thing is or you just want to know what it is called in German. How do you do that?

First, have some nouns.
car - das Auto listen!
pencil - der Bleistift listen!
book - das Buch listen!
TV - der Fernseher listen!
coffee - der Kaffee listen
key - der Schluessel listen
chocolate - die Schokolade listen
pen(or just generally anything you use to write) - der Stift listen
chair - der Stuhl listen
bag - die Tasche listen
table - der Tisch listen
watch/clock - die Uhr listen
newspaper - die Zeitung listen

now how to ask what something is, and how to answer.

what - was listen

What is that - Was ist das? (see older lessons on conjugation of "be" if you don't know)

This is a X - Das ist ein/eine (depending on male/neutral/female gender of word) X

Some places and things you would ask where they are

elevator - der Fahrstuhl listen
house - das Haus listen
room - der Raum listen
telephone - das Telefon listen
toilet - die Toilette listen
cigarettes - die Zigaretten listen

how to ask where something is

where - wo listen
there - da listen or dort listen they're about the same.

Where is X - Wo ist X
It is there./X is there. - Es ist dort./ X ist dort. Or Es ist da./ X ist da.

I think I already told how to ask who someone is in an earlier lesson?
EDIT: Nope, apparently I didn't.
who - wer listen

Who is that? - Wer ist das?
That is X - Das ist X (works for names as well as jobs, That is a X - Das ist ein/eine X)
So that's it for now.

Looooong lesson after a looooong pause.

I have Wo=Where completely down, but Wer=Who is my worst enemy.

Added who because apparently I didn't have that in an earlier lesson.

On AZ it is. We call people by throwing piranhas at them.
It's a word filter.
