Sorry, been kinda negative in a good amount of my posts lately. Too worn out by school. V_V

[Catherine]: Ah...Well, I guess if you get bored at a place like New York, you'll get bored pretty much everywhere...

There's a long silence for about 40 minutes, until Catherine begins to chuckle to herself.

[Catherine]: You know you're in Ellwood when you're in fog...

She's right. Outside a thick mist covers the entire area.

[Catherine]: It stays like this for about a week after it rains...Our home is around the outskirts of town, so we should be there in a few.

She's right, as a minute after she says that, Catherine pulls up to a yellow-painted old-looking house. You and her get out, while Lucas walks to the back of the Envoy and grabs two bags full of groceries.

[Lucas]: We went shopping while we were out to pick you up...Mom thought you would like to have a few snacks or somethin'.

The interior of Catherine's house is quite straightforward. The living room is to your immediate right, with the stairs to the second floor and basement to the left. The kitchen is located at the back of the house, with a small table mounted on a half-wall between the kitchen and living room. You place your duffel bag by the door and take of your shoes.

[Catherine]: Me and Lucas are going to unpack the groceries. Feel free to make yourself at home. Oh! Also, you're room's upstairs, first door on the right. You can head up and put away your things.

What should you do?

Check to see what TV stations they have. I mean what else are you gonna do with your free time in this place?

Help with the groceries

Picking up your bag, you head upstairs to your room to unpack.
Your room's a bit small, and accommodates a twin bed, a small desk with a rolling chair, two shelves, a small dresser with a TV, and a closet. Opening up you're closet, you find a plastic bag holding a white blouse, a red tie and a red skirt. The label on the bag says Ellwood Academy. You guess this is your uniform.
You unzip the duffel bag and take out everything inside. You have:
A compact laptop, charger and mouse.
A bundle of clothes.
Your phone charger.
A box of pencils and pens.
Two notebooks.
A few books.
It's not much, but it'll do for now. Setting aside the electronics and school supplies, you put away your clothes, then grab the laptop and head downstairs. Catherine and Lucas seem to be done with the groceries now. Lucas is watching the local news in the living room, while Catherine is talking to someone on the phone. You sit down next to Lucas.

[Lucas]: Mom's ordering Pizza for lunch. There's some stuff in the kitchen, too.

You nod and shift your attention to the news.

[Reporter]: ...correct, Neil, the murder of Mrs. Jean Nicholeson has not been solved yet. As of now, there are no leads, though the style of the murder is reminiscent of the serial killings by Hugh Smith 40 years ago in the town of Edwardsville. For those of you who are uninformed, the killings by Smith were reminiscent of the suits of tarot cards, with Mrs. Nicholeson's murder symbolic of the 'Fool' suit.

A picture of the Fool card appears onscreen, with pictures of the murder scene next to it. The body is horribly mutilated, with the mouth slit to look like a smile, and posed so the body looks like it's about to fall off a table. The corpse is hung by fishing wire.

[Reporter]: Now, in a case like this, it would be relatively easy to find out the killer. However, there has been no evidence found at the scene, and all but the most advanced forms of forensic science have been tested, with no results. Reporting from Ellwood, this is Francis Lanca-

Lucas changes the channel quickly. He has a look of disgust on his face.
What should you do now?

Ask him "why so serious?"

Ask Lucas what's wrong? If he doesn't want to talk, check to see what's in the fridge

Take the remote from him and flip it back to the news

>"What's wrong?"

Lucas looks at you seriously.

[Lucas]: Well...the woman that got murdered..? She was the homeroom teacher at Ellwood...God, I just saw her yesterday. I can't believe all this shit happened.

He looks visibly shaken. You flip back on the news. The weather report is currently on.

(T)THURS:Fog, Rain at night
FRI: Rain all day
SAT: Rain all day
SUN: Fog, cloudy.
MON: Clouds, expected to continue for another day or so.

It sure does rain a lot in this town...strange.
You open up the laptop you brought down. It's quite easy to hook it up to the internet. Once you're in, you see that your pen-pal is online on SITE. You consider messaging her, since she's a bit curious about the move.

Get on AZ.

Oh yeah, my roommate is attempting to draw the protag. Don't know when she'll have it ready for you. I'll post it when she does.

[Sorry about the slow movement, I'm busy drawing some stuff for the first day at school and the first Midnight Channel adventure.]

You send a quick message to your pen pal. She's currently learning English as a hobby, and you're coaching her through it. She responds with a quick greeting, and asks how the move went.
>"It's fine. Rains a lot here, though."
[Pen Pal]: Ha yea I know the feeling C:

You and her shoot the breeze for a while. Nothing much happens for another thirty minutes, until Catherine walks in with two boxes of pizza. Realizing you haven't eaten since yesterday, you walk over to the kitchen and watch as she opens up the boxes. There's cheese and supreme. Should you eat?

Faceplant into the cheese pizza.
