By Custom GM do you mean a GM Custom form 0083? Or one of those GMs you got customized?

So.
Many.
Parts.

And much bigger parts than the RX-78 had.

And it wasn't even that expensive. Most places that got it were like 70 - 100 dollars this one was just about 50.

Found a hobby store 20 min away with a huuuuge selection! Place was amazang. Didnt have that much on me so MGs were out of the question, but I still walked away with a HGUC GM III, Jegan ECOAS, and HGAW X Divider. Pics to come when the Jegan is done so I can make Stranaton incredibly jelly.

I started painting the parts for GUNTANK.
I'm going at it a bit differently than last time, since I somehow lost a part last time (it was only the thing to affix the shield onto the lower arm of Gundam).
So I'm looking at the manual, take the parts for the first step, paint them, paint the parts for the next step then assemble the parts for the first step.

I'm almost done with the Core Fighter parts, next up are the chest piece of GUNTANK. (yes, it needs to be in all caps to contain its awesomeness)

Double post because reason.

Image
Look at that fucking piece of shit.
I don't know what's the reason, but this fucking paint just loves to go off the parts they're supposed to be on and sticks to other parts and won't come off as if they're fucking magnets, even though the paint dried over night.
Fuck that, I'm not going to paint any more parts.

Do you use any kind of primer or do you just paint directly onto the model as it is?

You could also try using some superfine glasspaper to lightly sand the surfaces you want the paint to stick to if you wanted to go that route - but that might adversely affect the finish so you'd need to prime the surfaces you'd sanded as well.

I used primer. I think the paint comes off at the parts where I put them together because the paint makes them a tiny bit too thick to fit?

On the good side that shows the high quality of the kit that the parts fit so perfectly together that even a paint layer as thin as a hair makes them not fit anymore.

I suppose you could try masking the areas where the model fits together - but your masking would need to be millimetre-perfect.

I haven't done any modelmaking for a long time so I don't have any other suggestions really.

Next model kit will probably also have a core fighter, so I'll try then again, maybe leave it to dry for longer and not get paint on the little protrusions where you put parts together and stuff.

Anyway:

Has an LED.

Would I be correct to assume a MG Guncannon would have the core fighter gimmick too?
