So who saw this movie? I thought it was awesome. I didn't go in expecting a good plot, I went in expecting MICHAEL BAY EXPLOSIONS and GIANT ROBOTS SHOOTING SHIT and more EXPLOSIONS and some really hot girls. References to the original Transformers always a plus and the story involving the history of the transformers was pretty cool, the love story a bit cheesy but whatever its the over-hyped summer epic thats advertised everywhere and i thought it accomplished what it set out to do.

What did you guys think (if you saw it)?

This was what the movie was.

If I were to classify it, Transformers II would be "action porn".

To tell you the truth, I was a little tired of all the action near the end of the film.

Also, is Michael Bay or Steven Spielberg racist?
The two Autobots, Mudflap and the other dude, were unbelievably racist. Mudflap had a gold tooth, couldn't read, and sounded like he was voiced by a white guy wearing black face.

Not going simply because my theory on sequels usually turns out true:

Most of them are never good.

This can only apply to films whose first were actually any good.

So, wait, are you implying that bad films have good sequels?

Die Hard 3, Rush Hour 2, Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future 2, Terminator 2, Rocky 2, Lethal Weapon 2, Escape from L.A.. Sequels get a bad rap, but a lot of the time that's because audiences' expectations were set higher from the first film; i.e. not necessarily an accruate, objective opinion.

It was as if Michael Bay heard the complaints for the first movie and so in the second movie, he replaced the soap opera action with more robots fighting.

I think my guy friends and I are seeing this tomorrow.

Looks good. I'm mainly in it for the action and the "Star Wars Episode One : Pod Racing scene" sound effects with the robot fighting.

Sebulba's pod racer made the coolest sound.

I want to see Michael Bay do a sex scene with EXPLOSIONS.

Haven't seen it yet, but if that's the case it's already better than the first movie. Robot movie is about robots fighting not people drama-ing.
