Superstar Saga is the best game on GBA. No questions asked.

Still have a copy somewhere. I must've beaten it a dozen times as a kid.

Doki Doki Panic (JP). Super Mario Bros. 2 (US). Does that count as a Mario game?

Discuss.

(Personally, I think only because of some recurring themes, like Luigi's horrible traction but awesome jumps and Shy Guys and Bob-oms etc. Also Birdo.)

I consider it a Mario game, and personally it's my favorite out of the original 3. Wait for the SMB3 fans...

Super Mario bros. 3 is by far the most superior and definitive Mario platformer out there, but SMB2 will always have a place in my heart as a really great game too.

I need to start my Paper Mario Danger Run over again. I made all the way to the Ice place, but now I'm overleveled.

Aw man, Paper Mario... Classic shit right there. I own both of them but I just do straight playthroughs (I'm a boring fucker) but GOD daisies those games were fun.

Right now, though, I've been replaying Wario Land 4 on my Gameboy Advance *cough*whichisntanemulator*cough* because it's just great.

Went back to Galaxy for around an hour yesterday finding out what stars I had and hadn't gotten. It appears I have Luigi's Purple coins, but not the secret star for Toy Time. Weird.

Mind you, this is my second runthrough if Luigi isn't a second run.

God, how many times does this thread need reviving? It's about the guy who pretty much DEFINED video games back in the day, and still does to an extent, and yet this only has 5 pages and was made reletively recently, compared to many, many other threads.

SO ANYWAY

Crowning Moment of Awesome time?
Try to pinpoint at least one moment in the whole Mario franchise that made you feel so pop flyin' and awestruck. I advise using spoilers, particually for the newer games.

For me, it was probably mounting Yoshi for the first time back when I was a little 'un. It felt so cool to ride an adorable dinosaur that ate everything for you, who I frequently took back to his house so he could eat the fruit there. And the music for the first level you find him in, so many memories...

I also feel pretty proud of myself every time I beat the final boss, in any game where I've been able to do that~ Sure, it's not always that hard, but every time you do that, you beat the bad guys again and help save the Mushroom World. How is that not cool?
