One thing I like about the show is that the characters interact with each other. Each pony reacts to another in a different way.
Don't most works with more than two fictional characters do the exact same thing.

It's different with MLP, though, since there are so many different characters. Having them react differently to each other is pretty impressive.

As opposed to all those shows where they react to each other in exactly the same way?

In most other shows made for little girls, practically all of the main characters are deviod of personality. It's one of the reasons why MLP is enjoyed by more than it's target demographic.

Why are you comparing it to other shows for little girls?

It's all well and good saying it's better then others in it's genre, and that might be true, but that doesn't hold when talking about other works of fiction enjoyed by adults

what you just said implies that it's audience wants to watch little girl shows and this happens to be the best

It's really amazing just how many people wear trilbies and fedoras in completely unfitting outfits.

Tell me...

Are collared shirts fitting for such hats?

No

I think what he was trying to say is that the fact that it stands out from the rest is one of the reasons that people like it so much; the fans see it as another good cartoon rather than a girls' cartoon of higher quality.

I like the show because I think it's cute and the animation is nice and I enjoy it.

That's all the proof I need.

Animation- consistently good. Even taking it up a notch on occasion.
Characters- Nice and diverse. Which is good, otherwise the show would be bland.
Villains- I found Nightmare Moon and Trixie not to be as all the hype would have you believe. Discord, however, was brilliant. He's freaking Q! I can't say much more.
Plots- Typically creative, even if its a 'seen it before plot' (which as a kids show, will happen a lot)
I think one of the things that really makes the show stand out is the music. I love the music. I mean, how many other shows can do a parody of The Music Man?

Honestly, I prefer over something like, say, Johnny Test. Which is...bland. When they have a twist they tend to throw it all out at once. In a nice, calm manner of explanation. and the morals feel like you're being hit with a hammer most of the time. It is funny sometimes, but nothing happens that's really unexpected.

In regards to the previous line of conversation: Most people here won't criticize anyone for actually liking MLP, it's when people put it on a ridiculously high pedestal of total perfection.

It's certainly a "higher" tier of cartoon that can be enjoyed by more than its target audience, but it has its flaws just like any other cartoon and most fans I encounter seem to disregard the flaws entirely. I am the kind of person that can look at and accept the flaws in things I like, and it can even spark some nice back-and-forth conversation - but with some fans whenever you try and discuss the pros and cons of MLP they will disregard any criticism you bring up, even if it's within the realm of the current discussion, saying that you just want to "ruin" things for them. There's a difference between debate and bashing.

That said, MLP isn't within my interests, but I very much like the fact that it utilizes Flash animation so well.

However, there's legitimate praise and there's 'par for the course'. And really, I don't recall a good piece of work where characters had poor interaction.

uhhhh Powerpuff Girls? As the series went on it got pretty flanderized

Been watching Friendship Is Magic since December 2011, can't remember why it took me so long to actually watch this show on the internet, though.

I particularly enjoy it whenever they put in things from the Greek mythology and the like.
