I like electro stuff.

Listen to some of Hybrid's work and you'll drop your misconceptions about electro music being soulless, D-vid.

About Hybrid.

An example of their work:

Hybrid are one of my favourite composers, but I don't like that they use more voice sampling/singing now. I preferred their music more when it was pure instrument - no vocals, as Finished Symphony is.

Though I like the voice in this one:

I used to be and still am very much a metal kinda guy, though a few years ago I started listening to several electronic bands. What many people who don't listen to metal don't know is that metal is perhaps one of the most broad and varied music genres and all those sub-genres don't exist for nothing - you can have two guys who both claim to be metalheads but in reality hate each other's taste, because one's a 80's hair metal guy and the other only listens to obscure black metal bands.
I picked up metal when I was in 11-12, starting with Linkin Park and then quickly 'evolving' to more extreme stuff. For reference, this is what I listened to when I was 12:

It's just too easy to criticize a genre of music based on things like that. You can over-simplify that way for every genre out there, even classical music. And even then, what's wrong with a simplistic song? Does being simplistic make it bad? Seven Nation Army is a really cool track despite not being challenging at all to play. That could be said of a lot of The White Stripes' music, too, songs that are musically simple yet sound great and have an unique atmosphere. For Metal, you can take Thunderhorse as an example of a song that is relatively simple in its composition (and has no proper lyrics to speak of) yet still rocks everyone's socks. As for club music, the genre really goes beyond "covers with samples and looped beats".

It's unfair to put everything in the same bag. Justin Bieber sings pop music; will you start hating pop music like Michael Jackson just for that?

I've never really gotten into metal, I've tried listening to a few albums and I like some similar genres but metal itself doesn't do it for me. The scene is also pretty campy and autistic.

To me it seems weird that so many of the singers are screaming all the time, but you don't really feel it like with post-hardcore for example. A lot of the singers sound a little whiny and emo but their screaming feels more effective. Plus I don't really like a lot of the riffs in metal, they just seem to either go "diddly diddly diddly" or "brrm brrm brrm", Although there are probably a lot of exceptions to that generalization.

The point is, post-hardcore nigga.

I love that guitar riff. Their songs are a bit hit and miss but they have quite some songs I like.

If you wanna hear some good Metal, you should go for the older, good stuff. On the top of my head, bands like Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, DIO, Anvil, Def Lepard, Motley Crue, Machine Head, Twisted Sisters, Aerosmith, Rage Against the Machine, Judas Priest, Jane's Addiction, Slayer, Metallica, Van Halen, Suicidal Tendencies, Alice Cooper, Pantera, Guns N' Roses, and even older stuff like Hendrix, Deep Purple, Led Zep.
Starting with more recent stuff like Dragon Force, Children of Boddom, Rammstein, Slipknot, Korn, that's no good. I mean they're not bad bands, but it's not what Metal is all about, and starting with the older bands in my opinion gives you a more solid base of comparison. There's a lot more. There's a lot of art to be found in the older stuff that is extremely interesting and really just badass and sounding good.
