Sometimes I'm just lying in bed in the dark and brain says "Hey what if there's a tree monster standing over your bed?"
Why do tree monsters haunt my room and dreams aaaaa.

I'm afraid to invest emotions in a lot of things.

After my mother died I realised I had become afraid of letting myself feel, or at least, care about something.

Getting my pet snake was a big step for me after my mother died.

I'd been so afraid of getting a pet snake for so long because I knew a number of people at school who'd had snakes die on them after just a short period of time - and I was afraid of investing emotions in something that could just up and die on me like that.

However, I faced those fears and my snake has really helped me open my heart again.

I am still afraid of the fact that one day she may die on me - but even when that happens I would still rather have cared about her than not.

Obviously this saying has grown pretty trite with overuse but even still

Always better to celebrate death than to fear it. With every inevitable thing, it's better to accept than to regret and be afraid (be it your own death or that of a loved one)

Spiders. Absolutely terrified of spiders.
Also, horror games. I watch people play them and still end up screaming or attempting to hide in said people's sides.

Major difference is that I'll happily watch people play horror games as long as they give me hugs and keep the stuff away later, but spiders are nope all over.

I really do not feel ready for even the first step to becoming some form of responsible adult. It's really freaking me out and I do not want to do it until I'm ready but bodaciously tomorrow and shit i'm a horrible teenager how am i supposed to be an adult
