It's like driving is almost a subconsious action for me a lot of the time.

I have no idea if it's bad or not, but I tend to drive better when I do it.

Your brain automatically puts you on autopilot for tasks that it deems repetitive and boring, which unfortunately includes driving. You're still aware that you're driving and your brain is still technically in control, but that's generally when accidents tend to occur because you can't make snap rational decisions.

In other words, yes, zoning out while driving is incredibly dangerous.

It's how my car got its' bumper snapped in half. Other car with metal bumper turning left and not paying attention + me with plastic bumper going straight = driving home with a bungie cord holding half of my bumper in place and hoping it doesn't come off under the tires.

I haven't driven a car yet, but I get this in racing games (maybe other games aswell, but less noticeable or prone to happen). The odd thing is that I usually do better when zoned out :/

My aunt was in a car accident 3 days ago guys.

She fell asleep while driving, but shes fine. The car got totaled though.
