How did you not get higher than 4th, though? You were playing a song on at least Standard Mode, you were using both pads, you did a dayum good job at hitting most of the steps, and your routine was freakin' cool, to boot. I didn't see any of the other vids on the site even coming close to yours. I say the contest was rigged. :?

I was playing on Expert Doubles (level 8 song). That counted for 0% of points.
Just becasue it was difficult to pass meant nothing. If I'd done a very difficult moonsault during the song I probably would have won since that's a VERY hard trick to do.

I got a C? B? That's 10%
I had no costume (0 of 10%)
Audience participation (low)
Emotion (low... forgot to smile more)
And a few other things that were hard to translate, like continuity or story-telling or something.

...basically there's a lot of little things I didn't get scored on.
And the person who shot pikachu on stage probably scored highest from the audience, despite looking a bit terrible on stage.

This actually gave me an idea... if I ever learn how to make good edits I may try to do one with this. But may take a looong time.

. . .

I now officially hate competition-style DDR. I'll stick to jumping around like an idiot at home...

@efg: Does anyone actually know why the proletariats decided to change it to "Mormoncraft"? I even UrbanDictionary'd the term, and it wasn't on there, which means it isn't a mainstream thing yet.

The only people I know that play W o W are... hmm... well, kinda Christian, but mostly just 20-somethings who used to be Christian as kids but grew up to ignore religion altogether. So, atheists, I guess? :?

Why did you direct that question to efg, but asked if anyone would know that?
Anyway, it's an internal joke. I think...

Well, the score competition was based on score (without modifiers and no bar usage for DDR, with speed and skin proletariats with no bar usage for ITG {because there were no bars on the ITG pads})

Freestyle is about looking good to an audience. Not just looking good to DDR players. It has NOTHING to do with score... normally. You don't want AAAers ranking high in Freestyle when they do NOTHING but get a AAA.

Lovin' how the feelter retroactively applies and so now that thread is a huge argument about Mormons.

Which honestly is always good because have you met the Mormons? They're crazy people.

Because I was asking EFG if he knew if anyone knew how it started, since he was the last to comment on it? :?

@efg: The only Mormon I ever knew was the guy on House. But, I met a Jehova's Witness once. She was pretty cool. Her name was Genesis (legal birth name). She wasn't a stuck-up prude like everyone stereotypes them. Heck, she was an unwed mother that was around my age...

If that was what you were trying to say, you confused me there.
Not that I'm trying to be a grammar nazi here, but if that was what you wanted to mean, the question would start better with "@efg: Do you actually know anyone who might know why the proletariats..."

Well, if you consider the "@efg" to imply that I'm talking directly to him, and you think the sentence over, it's something that could be said in a perfectly normal English conversation, and it would have been understood properly. Though, I do understand that it sounded a bit strange. Eh, often sentences don't transition well to the internet. That's something I've learned very well over the last several years.

Okay, I'll refrain myself in commenting about that "edit" above, since I couldn't come with anything good to say about it. Still, I think I need to say something about it, since I'm included in it, so I'll use an image to show my reaction.

Hah! Lucky you. The high school I went to was across the street from a tabernacle. It was like backwards crazy-town version of the popularity ladder. The only way to be 'cool' was to have a 4.0 GPA and dress conservatively.

Not bad. A bit 4th-wall, but a nice pseudo-rebuttal.
