I like /b/. Hell, I've been hanging around there for maybe six years. Romantacising it has having been bettter back when is stupid, but it's just as stupid to say bluahhhhh haaahuhuhrngggggggg everything is horrible forever. The dumb shit is an integral part of it. If you were after a place with rules, standards, an expected level of quality, or a certain level of intellectualism, you went to the wrong place, with the wrong idea. It's somewhere you can be as moronic as you want to, and post bad copy pasta from encyclopedia dramatica all day long. It's also somewhere you can yell at christian people, post pictures of your penis, discuss french philosophy, discover horrible pornography, read the same green text story you saw four years ago, tell somebody that your grandpa died and you're sad about it, compare different brands of cornflakes, post more pictures of your penis, post pages of a comic for people to read... it's whatever the fuck you want it to be, and reducing it down to a specific demographic or ideal is an inherently flawed endeavour.

I browse /b/ as well, since last year somewhere. Idk why, sometimes there's good or interesting stuff on there. And it's interesting to see what complete MY GOD-GIVEN RIGHT TO SAY WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT AND DISREGARD ALL CONSEQUENCES TO WHAT I SAY leads to.

I pretty much went straight to /v/ when I started browsing 4chan some 1½ years back. I never browsed /b/ save for a couple peeks and I don't really intend to. /v/ can be both really good and utter crap, like most boards, but it's interesting enough to keep me browsing actively, certainly much more so than "actual", moderated video game sites. And I don't really care for the occasional offtopic stuff like rage threads and all that as long as it doesn't reach "so why don't you have a girlfriend yet" level. Believe it or not but some of the best humor I've seen stems from there and blatant fanboys and genuine retards get called out, along with meme-spewing reddit folk.

And then there's of course /ss/ and /h/

This is mostly my mindset. I have friends that have been browsing /b/ back when we were freshmen in high school. They were 14 back then, they're 21 now. They're some of the most adamant people about how "14 year olds shouldn't be ruining our /b/".

Which is stupid because I highly doubt the 14 year old newfags are any worse than they were back then (and trust me, these were the guys that were all over myspace acting like idiots thinking they were cool), it's all hindsight blindness about the whole thing.

/b/ isn't any better or worse than it's always been, and any perceived problems aren't unique to the 14 year olds on there.

Ultimately, if accordion wants to be a part of 4chan that's their prerogative. At least they seem more mature than some people on there.
