It's happening again...

A rusty door creaks open, spilling fresh sunlight into ancient, dust choked air. A mysterious figure stands silhouetted against the doorway. The figure steps into the room the door squeaks back into place. Tiny rays of sun light a trail of broken tiles, leading to a dark and lonely corner, where a large boxy shadow lurks. The figure stands before the black monolith. The figure hits a switch on top of the monolith. The machine comes back to life with a brilliant flash of white, illuminating the room. Dozens of arcade machines line the walls, several lie toppled over, all caked in a decades worth of dust. A large sign, emblazoned with a stylized AZ, reads AWKWARD ZOMBIE ARCADE. The machine's dust is blown off by some otherworldly force. Stylish artwork depicting all sorts of beatdowns from dozens of combatants cover the cabinet.
THE AWKWARD WARRIORS
is displayed across the screen in blood red letters. The words Insert Coin beckon you.

ALL OF MY QUARTERS.

You pluck a single quarter from your pocket and drop it into the coin slot. It falls onto a pile of coins deep within the machine, unclaimed since time immemorial. You grip the joystick and lay your fingers on the six buttons. The logo fades and a Bitchin' Theme thumps throughout the arcade, shaking the dust off the machines. A select screen appears. You select your character of choice.

Then the game begins.

I picked a new theme song, more appropriate for my name.

>A large airship lies half buried in sand on one of the island's beaches. Ramen Tom paces back and forth, trying to figure out what to do next as his loyal chum Doopy digs out the ship. Ramen's raven flits about finally finding a suitable perch on one of the many planks of ironwood scattered about haphazardly. He looks up at you quizzically.

I send my raven to scout.

>You shout "Scout!" to your feathered friend. He gets of his feathery butt and proceeds to fly over the trees trying to find anything of note. He'll be back in a bit. You notice some flotsam drifting out to sea, large chunks of your once proud airship taken by the tide.
What now?

Search beach for dead creatures to re-animate as servants/companions.

>You stroll along the beach keeping an eye for any corpse the needs reanimating. The storm that knocked your ship out of the sky seems to have subsided but a strange green hue still hangs in the air. Up ahead an dried up octopus lies on the sand. A dead mako shark lies not too far away.

What do you do?

Having no use for the shark, I raise the octopus.
I tuck the Zoctopus into my rib cage for later.
