I would not classify RE5 as a survival horror or really a horror game at all considering how rarely you run out of ammo.

At most it's a action/shooter with horror elements.

Hell, the Cortana level in Halo 3 is much scarier than RE5

It's a monster shooter game. Do you remember how big Excella was?

RE only scares me in the sense of HOLY SHIT THATS A CHAINSAW not in the aaaaaaaaaa zambies way.

Silent Hill has a better story than Resident Evil, but I don't know if it's scarier.

Cortana wasn't scary IMO, mostly because...well...

Flood really aren't that scary.

I've played through all of RE5 and maybe 45 minutes of Silent Hill 3, and let me tell you SH3 is by far scarier than RE5 could dream to be. Most people have told me RE5 is way more ACTION-PACKED HERO CHRIS REDFIELD than the other RE games, but I did play a bit of RE4 and I am sorry but crows dropping hand grenades will never cease to make me laugh.

The only amusing thing about Silent Hill was by the time I had collected 30 puzzle keys running around spastically from enemies I felt like Macguyver. If only I could have actually combined things to combat my foes and solve everything.

Silent Hill 2 has one of the creepiest atmospheres ever, so there's that.

The thing about RE4 and 5 for me was that by the time I was half way through I was way to good at shooting specific parts of people, Even when the chainsaw man and other scary dudes came along it was just "AH you came out of nowhere!" then a nanosecond later "Bam kneecaps, Boom head, Bang Bang Bang three shots in the heart, one more in the head. Dead already? come on." nothing is scary when you can just blast them away, makes you feel like a badass though...

At this point there are also a bunch of super powered Chris and Shevas running around so you don't really have to try if you do co-op

I like the idea of a huge Chris Redfield running through the city of Tokyo and all the tiny japanese people running, also Chris is racking up some serious PTSD it looks like :-/

So Leon's game has the traditional shambling zombies, while it looks like Chris will be dealing with some serious mutants and shit. I just seriously hope that I don't have to deal with co-op similar to Resi 5. Playing as a solo person against hordes of mutants, zombies, and zombie mutants is much more thrilling when you don't have to deal with healing your co-op buddy or getting a game over for their incompetence.

I picture 3 main game modes.

Leon: Resident Evil 2 + Resident Evil 4 game play = Resident Evil 6. Excited.
Chris: STEROIIIIIDS and Gears of Evil. It looks meh.
New guy: RE5 + RE3 game play. Is this a new nemesis?
