Reubo and Lithium: Same. Crispy thinks so too. It seems logical, right? Falling in love with someone you'd be best friends with I mean. It's about interaction with each other, being there for each other, talking, laughing, doing stuff together. That's all things best friends are made for. Additionally to that comes the romantic and/or sexual intimacy that separates it from friendship.
Actually I really don't understand people who are like "noooo I can't be together with my best friend" just because of the fact that they're best friends.

I think that's always been a high school fear thing of "Noooo what if he doesn't like me and things get awkward?"

Honestly that's what held me back to asking Tuxedo Mask out despite the fact that he made it beyond obvious that he liked me. Also the pressure I got from friends, as they made fun of us from day one when we met in 7th grade. But eventually I just thought screw it and asked him out and surprisingly my friends didn't tease me about how I finally did it or that I waited so long or anything like that

romance is difficult and complicated and you risk ending the relationship poorly, ruining the friendship as well

it could be a lack of courage to take that risk, sincerely believing the two of you have better compatibility as friends than lovers, or any of various other reasons

I think one of the reasons I've never dated anyone is simply because I become friends with people really fast and then it'd be awkward.
I've also never had a crush on anyone, but shit like that doesn't seem to matter in my school.

My first and only boyfriend was my best friend of three years. His mom and stepdad constantly pushed on how cute we looked together, and eventually at the end of our junior year in high school he gave me a 'promise ring' and asked me to go out with him.

Part way into our senior year, after Homecoming, he broke up with me. I wanted to go back to being his friend, but he acted so uncomfortable and awkward that I finally decided that he would have to approach me first after that.

I miss my friend. Our relationship was incredibly stale, and we were way too different in terms of our likes and dislikes, but I wanted to still be his friend.

I feel like it's not as awkward as some people make it out to be- asking out a friend. Especially if your down to earth people. recently me and a friend tried going out on a couple dates to see if anything came of it, and she said she preferred being friends, and because we're the drama-free types, we were easily able to go back to square one with a minimum amount of awkwardness. I'm fine with it- because now I can go back to constantly teasing her for liking Nickleback.

People, hell even me, could still probably due with learning to be a little bolder in that respect.

I think most people are afraid that it will be hard to go back to being friends if things don't work out. At least, that's the way it seems to me. I wouldn't be sure, having never been in a relationship before.

I have found out that my stomach does not agree with spinach tortillas.
