Whenever the next generation of consoles pop out from their hiding places you will see what the PC crowd is talking about. Initially, the developers won't be able to harness all the power from the console so it will look just like a PC game. Then they will hit a boundry that they can't pass and will then spend their time optimizing the code so they can improve the graphics on limited hardware.

PC does not have this issue. The hardware is constantly evolving and the reason you don't see a difference in PC and console graphics now is because most of the games made now are made for consoles.

Here is a few examples where the graphics engine was modified to work on a console:

Comparison with 30 FPS locked and 60FPS

I'm not disputing that graphics are better on PC. I was making a remark wondering why better graphics are so important. Soon enough they're going to hit picturesque quality and there is nowhere left to go from there for anyone. It's a headlong race to that brick wall you mentioned. That's why I don't care about graphics much, because they're doomed for the dead-end while the important things, gameplay and plot, have no obstacle in sight.

Also I watched those videos and I have to honestly say I saw no difference whatsoever between 60 FPS and 30 FPS in that last one. They've both got nice weather effects, nice movement with no clipping, no lag, great animations, etc.

How'd this get to frames anyway? I made a remark about graphics, not smoothness of gameplay.

FPS is inherently related to graphics. Each frame you see is the graphics that is rendered by the graphics engine.

At any rate. You are right. Graphics aren't the defining factor if a game is good or not. But I would love to have 60 FPS always. 30 FPS stutters too much for me.

Story is by far an important factor, however I think gameplay is the most important one. The graphics can be shit. The aesthetics sub-par. The story is pure bollocks, but as long as the gameplay is excellent, I will still play the game. The other factors are just a bonus as long as they are playable.

This is the cool thing about computers (a PS3 is a stripped down computer). They function on values. If you have 256MB of RAM, you have 256MB of RAM. If you try to fill more than 256MB of RAM into that space, you run out of RAM and you can't put more in.

So you are left with two options. 1. Get more RAM. 2. Don't use Google on the PS3.

Or you could go here and have it fixed.

It's a joke

On a side note: does a PS3 really only have 256MB RAM?
They might not need more, but that is still SAAAAAD.

So yeah... 256MB RAM... I was actually just using it as an example...

So guess this is a techie question but does anyone know a good mp3 player as an alternative to iTunes? I really don't like how clunky it is and if anyone knows anything better that'd be great

Anything is better than iTunes.

I have a Zune, I like it. The Zune program doesn't have as much functionality as iTunes (you need to use Windows Media Player to burn CDs and whatnot) but it works for me since I just use it to organize my songs. You can also sync up with Xbox and other Microsoft stuff like that, I dunno if you'd use that at all (I don't)

Alternately you can just get a more generic mp3 player, download all your songs from Amazon. (I don't actually buy things from Zune marketplace) I don't know which ones are good and which ones are crap, though.

If you have a smartphone with the memory and sounds quality for it, they can make good mp3 players.

Well to be honest I never wanted an iPod and only use it because I got it as a gift from my mom and want to make the most of it before it craps out. But yeah, iTunes itself is really bad but I'm really looking for something to replace it to play music on my computer at least. Thank you for your help though, SaintCrazy

Itunes works fine for me.

Then again I just use it to put music on my Ipod.

Foobar2000 is great. Light-weight, has everything you need, easily customizable UI. I actually just downloaded a plugin that automatically fetches album art from Last.fm.
What mine looks like:
