Note to self: do NOT drift in the rotating cylinder in the newest Rainbow Road :U

THe most terrifyingly true statement to ever be spoken. You have been warned.

I think if you were to drift intelligently and carefully in the opposite direction from what it's turning then MAYBE it would work? But it's risky and you can get stuck there for ages.

I have never experienced drifting in the tube.

....But now I really want to try it just so see how weirdly horrible it is.

Just got the game today with my Christmas cash.

Won't be online yet, gotta unlock the rest of the courses, but man these look fun so far. I already love Music Park and Rock Rock Mountain or whatever it's called.

Got 3 stars on every cup. I would have done it earlier if I didn't get hit by a blue shell everytime I nearly finish Rosalina's world!!! I just managed to beat it by perfectly getting the landing boost when you fall off the track and drift while getting a boost.

And yes, I have been playing Mario Kart again.

I love the new rainbow road! I like how you are able to drift, glide and do the stunt jump thing nearly all the time throughout the track.

Shadow, Blue Shells are easy to evade.
The computers are idiots and have to wait half an hour to shoot it, so you watch the bottom screen.

Soon as the bastard turns up, slam on the brakes until you hit second, and let the AI take the punishment.

Retardus, try dodging them when you have no mushroom boosts and the AI are too far to stop, then when you get hit, you fall into an abyss of darkness due to it being in the air/near a bunch of holes and get pulled back on by Lakitu, loseing 6 coins in the process repeatedly on the same course. :colbert:

I complain about this one incident and you bag me on not being able to dodge blue shells in general. I'm offended since they are really easy to dodge when not facing the above scenario.

Sorry if I offended you, Shadow.
The way you worded it made it sound like a persistent problem and I reacted accordingly.

Meanwhile, in my attempts to triple-star, I have one cup left.

The 150cc Special Cup.
I'm fine with almost all the tracks now, but if I come second on Bowser's Castle just one more time I'll freak.

Italic-ing the word 'easy' showed the comment that was previously written by you, as an insult as I read it, showing that you are able to muscle your way out of such blue shell-scenarios with ease. I had the previously mentioned blue shell problem repeatedly, not a simple 'agh! Blue shell, wat do?', leaving me with no counter and an occuring annoyance on the same track.

Joined the community, but probably won't join in any races until I get more comfortable with racing.

Anyone else find holding the 3DS with your fingers on the A L and R buttons kinda painful on the thumb side of the palms? I need to see if I can grip it better, because it's not really gelling for me.

Also, I'm surprised how many times blue shells have popped up in the 50cc. Nowhere near as bad as other games' 150cc, but I don't remember blue shells even occurring in 50cc in the other games, more or less there being at least 2-3 of them popping up each cup.

And does it seem like some courses are more stingy with the coins than others? It's kinda annoying that some give you long strings of them at each bend, almost bending backwards to get you your full 10, and others seem to have them more scattered and hard to get, made worse when you get flipped off a stage by a blue shell and need to collect them all again.

I'm loving the game, though I think I'm going to dread 150 and Mirror mode. As long as they don't cause as much bullshit rubber banding as the DS version, or isn't as broken as Wii's bike fetish AI's (I seriously hate bikes with a passion, and I'm very glad they're out of 7), I should be fine.
