Living in a big city is like living in a mall, you can buy whatever you want right next door.

There's a downside to it too of course, Leuven is regarded as very safe, but there's been an occasion where I've been scared.

I live in the country, which is nice.

Brief forays into cities are good fun too, though, especially in nice places like Canada. I spent two weeks in Ottawa two summers ago and it was probably the most pleasant experience in my life.
I like the country, but I'm hoping to move to a city in Canada when I'm older.

I live in the suburbs, but I like the idea of living in a city. I just get tired of having to drive for so long to get where I need to go.

I live in a very rural area. It is quite nice here, lots of mountains (by US east coast standards... these are the Appalachians). Moved here from suburban area in 2006 or something. Having a forest and some mountains to explore was great, but the novelty quickly wore off.

i swear to god nearly every daisies person in kentucky is retarded as shit

I want to move to a city. Before I moved, I lived in Pennsylvania. In 2003 or 2004 (can't remember), we went on a one-day trip to NYC with this other family we knew. It was pretty fun. The dad of the other family knew the city pretty well, as he had been there tons of times (his brother died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks). Basically any mention of the WTC was a big no-no, and we didn't even get anywhere near there, and we went all over the place.

I don't want to move to NYC exactly, but a city would be cool. A nicer one.

My perfect place would be more rural, but not too far away that I'm in the boonies. Rural enough to have horses but not too rural that you gotta drive an hour to Walmart :P

Basically...I want to live in a place like where I was born :< I grew up in a small, private property with the entire park (like 5 acres or so,) to play fireman with my dog on and a bayou with wild blackberries at the edge of the property and a big pack of deerhounds to tease when the owner wasn't looking. I miss the small town friendliness and how everything is small business and local. Getting jobs was easy because you always knew someone who owned a business or could put in a good word for you.

I currently live in a major suburb and while I guess it's nice to have just about everything I need within walking distance, I find it pretty daisies boring. It's too noisy and loud for me. I prefer quiet and natural settings, where I can lay in my yard and look at the stars and actually see more than 6. I find cities and suburbs to be too unnatural - not enough woods for me. My idea of fun is to go out and take pictures of wildlife and such and there's a distinct lack of wildlife in the neatly-manicured lawns of rich old people >.o I enjoy visiting the urban areas, especially to go to a theatre or concert but the idea of living in one appeals to me about as much as staying in the suburbs does.

I prefer living in small towns, like where I lived before I went to college.

It's a lot easier to get to know people, and they tend to be friendlier.

You guys are giving your reasons for wanting to live where I do, and they are the exact reasons I DON'T want to live here. e_o

People around here act TOO familiar with you. I prefer being called "sir", you know, like you call strangers who are dudes. EVERYONE around here calls strangers "hon" or "sweetie". Seriously, you can't buy anything anywhere without the cashier saying "You have a good day, honey!" I mean really, just shut up.

Also everyone around here is crazy (I mean holy shit really) ultra Baptist. Not bashing anyone on here who is Baptist, but these people are batshit insane. I have had the crazier ones try and 'save' me through the drive-thru window at work.

i mean fuck

just take your daisies sandwich

I live 15 minutes away from the nearest town (population of 6000), and most people in the area live outside of town and own horses. I hate horses. :I

Walmart is just on the edge of town. Everyone goes there for everything from their industrial-size bottles of grease to their XXXL pants.

seriously why is everyone here fat
just stop eating

We have wild blackberries growing down towards the southern edge of our 8-acre property. The northern area is all forested. Maybe two acres are cleared?

And I swear everyone in town knows the two guys who own the ten McDonalds in the area. You could walk up to a random stranger and be like "hey, I need a job" and they'd say "hey, let me call up Bob and see if he could get you a job at one of his McDonalds"

I like Astronomy, so that is about one good thing about living out here. I can actually SEE the Milky Way (with my glasses on hurrdurr) and the Andromeda Galaxy (with binoculars, although it is just a fuzzy spot).

and then CN complained about everything

If you respect other people having religions besides yours (or no religion at all) and don't try and force your beliefs upon them, then I have no problem with you.

If you insist on SAVING MY SOUL FROM THE DEVIL then i hate you. :colbert:

i need to move somewhere else

No worries man. I totally respect other people's beliefs, even if I don't necessarily agree with them. And I won't try and convert people over the Internet.

Ah the big city, the land of oppertunity, you can do almost anything here, go jogging, work at a soup kitchen, shop, oh the choices.

I just need a knife for self protection.

Here's another reason not to live in Kentucky:

A couple months ago, some people got into an argument after they had a small car accident (you knowm, bumpers... bumped.)

The argument escalated and....

The one guy was shot by the other guy. With a crossbow. To the heart.

Hell if I know. Probably not for self defense. Everyone around here is big on hunting, and he had it in his trunk.

But still

Crossbow

I'll take a good stabbing any day over that
