I don't think that's a problem so long as you know who you're directing the comic towards.

If you're posting this in a Tolkien appreciation forum or aiming it at mainly fantasy enthusiasts, chances are you'll have a wider appeal.

If you're posting it on a forum for a video game webcomic, you might have more hits then misses.
