Holy fuck guys I have no clue what to do
It is 3:30 am over here and I was just woken up by the sounds of my host father hitting my older sister. Not just once, but repeatedly, and hard. I didn't even hear shouts, just him saying things and her moaning in pain after each hit. I think I heard my host mother talking too. I don't think she was hit though, and I don't even know if she was trying to stop him.

It carried on for at least 10 minutes, and it started getting worse and worse, older sister was crying now and I think at some points she even hit m host father back.

I know Korea has the whole corporal punishment thing, but this seems really unusual. I don't know what she did, what they said, or why this happened at three in the morning. I dont know what to do. Should I tell my exchange coordinator about this and wind up getting transferred to a new family possibly? Ask my host mother about it? Just ignore it? I don't know. I don't want to talk to my exchange friends about it because I don't want to give bad examples of my family, and I don't want to ask my classmates about because I don't want to worry them

Just...shit. My father would never dream of hitting me or my sister like what I heard. Just...daisies.

Another unusual thing though is that she's over 20 and in college. That's another thing that's unsettling about this.

Wow it's hard to make out what he's saying. I'm not quite sure what kind of point he's making. Something about the London riots and... his history with them in Trinidad?

Okay, update. I haven't talked to my coordinator yet, but I found out some new things: 1) It wasn't my older host sister, but my younger host brother who's barely 14 and my host mother said "Oh Chong Dam doesn't have to go to school today, his school has free time. Also Opa(father) left early for business." Which I assume is parent speak for Chong Dam isn't coming out until I left for school because they don't want me to see what happened, and as for him leavin Busan entirely, suspicious to say the least.

As I understood it: The riots didn't shock him cause he says everyone who paid attention knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Someone who lived near him was shot in the head by a police officer. He likens the riots to Syria and other countries where the citizens fight against their government I guess?

I think it's also that the news was expecting to get someone who would agree with them. Not someone who would contradict them mercilessly. And then they just brushed him off as if he wasn't even there.
