You've lost it, DnD. At least it was fun while it lasted.
Oh it is to laugh!
The reason I didn't put much effort into that edit this week is because Katie's comic this week inspired me to step beyond edits and into drawing and writing my own comics.
The comic's title is
'Shamrock Suit':
I just uploaded this on
my deviantART account if anyone's interested (I've already okayed uploading this comic on DA with Katie - I've given her a credit because I use her name and have referenced some of her existing artwork).
This was supposed to be a one-off but I've had a few more comic ideas with this 'Shamus O'Ran' character (and the 'Space Ninjas') so I'll probably draw them up at some point. I also have other comic ideas I want to draw up too!
I'm not sure if I'll be able to create comics as often as Katie though (every week), they are really time-consuming - this one has taken up almost all of my spare time the past five days!
Tell me if it's funny or not because you lose your objectivity when you've been looking at/working on the same comic for a number of days. I can totally understand why Katie falls out with her own comics/has doubts about if they are really funny or not.
I think it'll be good for my confidence in drawing and colouring/shading artwork if I keep making comics - I'm terrible for procrastinating when I'm working on my 'serious' highly-detailed anthropomorphic artwork - it was fun to do something on a different skew for a change. I need to work on my cartoon expressions more though so I don't borrow so much from Katie's own comics.
I'd appreciate comments about the execution of the whole thing - I think I could've planned the positioning of the speech bubbles a bit better - they've fallen a little awkwardly in places.
Oh blimey! Lots of words written here as well as on my DA page!
Just so you know, this comic isn't a personal attack on your 'ethnicity' Plasma - I just find this stereotype really awesome and fun to write for!
