So does anyone know the smallest possible caliber bullet that can still reliably puncture a human skull? Small, light ammo means you can carry more and move quickly without getting fatigued. I'm imagining a P90 on the single-shot setting would be ideal for "on the move" situations but I'm not sure the 5.7 mm round would be powerful enough to punch through a zombie's skull.

I'm no expert on guns but I'm pretty sure any hand gun nowadays packs enough punch to do the job.

PS90 it is. Longer barrel for accuracy, obviously. You still don't want to be too close to those Zeds.

FN also has a pistol, the 5.7, recoil is negligible, supposedly can penetrate an armored vest. 20 rounds, etc. Personally I am an advocate of the 9mm, springfield makes the xdm which also holds a minimum of 20 rounds. Ammo for 9mm is cheap, compared to other calibers, easy to find due to availability and usage by many people and countries, and the recoil is also negligible, easier for follow ups and headshots....Pistols are harder to use than rifles but easier to have on you 24-7, best way I've learned to shoot a pistol? The front sight is most important, I get the most accuracy putting the pistol on target, then I focus on the front sight until it is sharp and the target becomes a little blurry, but keep the front sight on the target, follow through, voila! Accuracy...Personally I like the M-4 with the right set up, recoil can be brought waaay down and the rounds are going the magic 2500 fps to incur one shot damage. Along with the low recoil and right trigger and you got 3 shots, three kills...Anyways, I hunt, interesting subject and skill...
