What you said is very true, but I like the idea that if I run into another player (which we did a lot, last time) I don't have to worry too much about them one-hitting me. New players have a better chance at catching up to old players this time around.

the new LP system's way more enjoyable for me this time around, probably because I'm at the point where I can stack curiosities and get loads of it. Last worlds were alright I guess, but I had to wait for my crops to grow before I got the windfall of LP that I needed to further boost my ability to grow crops. And when they did grow, I had to spend way too much of my playing time just tending to them and feeding the lardy pregnant animals you call cows in this game. Grindfest is a bit less now I guess? It probably won't change though if we continue, the grinding will just be for a different purpose now.
Mudflats actually have a bit of purpose now but I wouldn't really know. You can find some low per*exp curios on them sometimes, and the one we have near here apparently has acre clay in it? Cafall found some anyways.

Productive things are still productive, you just won't be rewarded for them in the same way that you were last time around. I guess they aren't as enjoyable now because you get rewarded less. Now you build for the sake of building, and because you need to instead of because you need more EXP. It's definitely helped the deforestation/loom spam/bucket grinding problems.

I guess I'm going on about this too much but I dunno. Specialization in a group of buddies is more important now with the LP system, like say, I'm the farmer that I always am, Cafall becomes a hunter/potter/something and, um, Lotharu becomes an explorer or something. I can make straw dolls and food, Cafall makes leather balls and... clay... things... for us to play with, and Loth finds ants and spiderwebs. In this way, you get at least four or five different decent-LP/time curiosities (dolls, balls, clay chariots, ants, webs) in your mentory as opposed to like, two that you'd have if you were playing alone. Of course you have to work to get to that point, but it's not difficult if someone else has been playing (like us) and we can hand you some curios to get you up to our level.

The more the merrier in this world!
It's fine if you want to wait, though.

I'm almost to the point of specialization. I'm planning on being a miner/ metalworker or a straight up warrior.

just be careful that you don't die while fighting animals in CC if you do become a warrior

Oh, geez, I went out looking for string to make rope for our palisade, and went out of the C-lakes for a wider range. I kept walking southeast, and eventually I found Pandemonium. And five rabbits.

We only need one more rope to finally build the palisade cornerpost!

EDIT: THE CORNERPOST IS/WILL BE UP! Unfortunately I will be gone for most of tomorrow so I'll leave it to you lads to carry out the work.

I've been bored and lonely since one of my friends has been drifting away from me and my other friends are always busy

so i think i'll start playing again this weekend, if you guys are willing to help me get started. Just PM me the hearth secret and I'll probably start playing the next time i'm online during the daytime. :)

Got any ideas on what I should specialize in? Before I was always just sort of a random handyman, which i guess i can't really do anymore... my favorite thing to do was build fences and roads and stuff wehhh

Hrmm, maybe i'll farm. Farming was fun. Is farming the same?

okay scratch that i decided to log in anywho and then i remembered i still have the character i made when the current world started so i logged in and there was a small settlement around me which i assume is the main AZ settlement. Has the beginnings of a palisade, a single land claim which I am apparently allowed into and a log cabin.

I'll just be here poking into every cupboard and eating your food when i get hungry. I wish I knew how to fish.

So, I'm looking at the combat system
And it looks pretty simple once you get the hang of it. I think I could be a warrior/hunter guy.
Also BON I CAN'T GET TO YOUR HEARTH FIRE IT SAYS IT IS TOO CROWDED
ARE YOU HAVING PARTIES AROUND YOUR HEARTH FIRE WITHOUT ME
