FYI, the core gameplay is just as fun if not better than it was in 2007, you're just blinded by hat envy or have only played in 32-slot instaspawn 2fort servers

if they made hats look less outlandish and not so much a profit tool, I'd be fine with it. I actually like the new weapons and tools, and don't mind the hats. I hate the people who crap all over a good game with HATSHATSHATS (the players)

For the first time in my life, I'm actually looking for a specific hat, but only to complete a weapon set. Otherwise, I agree with you, Stranaton.

As a child, I took a pretty long time to beat Wind Waker because I have a rather odd fear of water in fiction, and you know, there was water everywhere.

I've never really ever felt like giving up based on a single game. But as a kid I did get really frustrated with the first Spyro game. I just had never played a game like that before and got really frustrated and confused. And the last boss was a pain for me. But I got through it.

Halo: Reach.

It often makes me question how much of the game was designed to be fun. Simply having vastly superior weapons lying around the map gives the better team more power and turns a losing situation into an impossible one far too easily. On top of this, it seems that there's an inversely proportional relation to how good you are at the game and how much respect you have for the other players in it. I don't doubt that I've ruined my fair share of games for another team, but at least I don't taunt the enemy simply because he's losing to me. I guess it's just an XBOX Live thing, but that doesn't make it any more forgivable.

Oh, also, grenades. You spawn with two of them and they have such short fuses that they can't be avoided if they're already aimed properly. This encourages every player to toss every grenade in their possession at the start of every fight. I actually happen to like hiding around corners and behind doorways, but given how there are explosions occurring across the entire map at all times, I'm forced to play the game exactly like everyone else or die. Repeatedly. Better hope I tossed my grenades before I did or I've just given someone else two more to contribute to the cause.

Eheheh, sorry if I've ever nailed you with a stray grenade dude, and did anyone ever play SSX Blur?
SSX3 was the first game I bought with my own cheddar, and to this day it's some of the most fun I've had with strings of ones and zeros. On Tour wasn't as good, but I loooooved the soundtrack, first time I ever heard ska! Then Blur came out. I had such high hopes for it, I went home and giddly fed it to my wii, then 15 minutes in I realized every good thing from the past games had been stripped away, my favorite game ever reduced to a sad husk of it's former self.

Trying to get the old NES to start when I was a kid was cool
The half an hour of blowing into the cartridge made playing games more valuable
I don't know if that's off topic

MapleStory. The grind is ridiculous, even now that they've halved the XP requirements for gaining levels. When I got a character to level 40, I just got stuck because it took so long. My highest character is a level 63 Bowman, and you have no idea how much time I had to sink into that guy.

This. Except I believe I only got to level 15 and my friend is all like "LOL IT DOESN'T TAKE THAT LONG TO GRIND"

Fucking, hell, game was tedious as hell and basically made me not want to play MMORPGs ever again.

The space levels from Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. WHOOPS YOU GOT TOO MUCH MOMENTUM LOOKS LIKE YOU REACHED ESCAPE VELOCITY.

For some reason the Seymour fight on Mt. Gagazet in FFX got me very angry.

The Incredibles game. I will always regret buying that game.

I remember another: The mission in Goldeneye where you have to protect Natalya while she disables the satellite. I finally beat that thing in 2008 after I found a used copy.
