I dunno if there's been a thread like this, if so, taunt me mercifully because I am a n00b.

So, worst game ever? I hated Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus.

Xena: Warrior Princess: The Talisman of Fate for the N64.

That's probably the worst game I've ever played. Glitchy, repetitive... all-around BAD.

Regarding more relevant games, I could not get through Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. I have it sitting on my shelf, but I can't get myself to pick it up. Sure the gameplay is fun, and I thought the graphics were nice, but that annoying voice-over is just... just... urgh.

I don't like that game either - it was way too linear.

Sure you could pull off fancy wall-walking moves - but only when the situation allowed for it, then you had to hit the wall just right.

It couldn't compare to the expectations of first-person games that Metroid Prime had given me. I just kept thinking to myself 'Why am I playing this inferior game? I'd rather play Metroid Prime again than this linear-fest!'

The game I'd award worst game ever (that I have actually bought, played and traded in) is Turok: Evolution on the GC.

Summary of issues:

* Nowhere near as much freedom as in previous Turok games.
* Haphazard weapon availability.
* Poor crosshair alignment (no control outside a given 'imaginary box').
* Crap collision detection.
* Annoying voice actors.
* Idiotic A.I.
* Bugs. Lots of glitches. Much fail.

Cliche' answer, I know, but I used an emulator to play that E.T. game for the Atari, and it was really bad. You basically just wandered around and fell into pits and then slowly levitated yourself out of said pits. I also once played this game using an SNES emulator called Bebe's Kids just because I heard it was bad. That game really sucked too.

Other than games I played specifically because I heard they sucked, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi or whatever. Yeah, its great that you have like 100 characters but it doesn't mean a thing when they are all almost exactly alike!

There may be worse games, but I can't remember them right now.

In FMA: Dual Sympathy, I liked the fact that I could play as my favorite characters (even if the Major was there too...) but it was too short. I beat it so easily it never occurred to me that I beat it in a few hours being lazy after waking up.

being short is not a bad thing. good example is zone of the enders. only around 6 hours(which is very short for something on the PS2), but still a great game.

unless you just uppercut them. which can only be done by doing something. I think it was L and Y. by "some dude" do you mean the nostalgia critic? because I saw him play it and it looked pretty crappy to me.

also, I dont know what the worst game ever is. There are the obvious ones, but I've never played those.

I guess just about any game that got a release while it was still in the alpha stage of development, mainly because it wasnt even completed and was still released. at least in the beta the whole game's there (even if it does have a bunch of terrible bugs in it.) I'm looking at you, big rigs.

Hurrr... I actually liked that game. Sure it was linear, but the linear-ness worked, in my opinion. However it's the only PoP game I've ever played so maybe I need to play the others to have something to compare it to.

The only thing I didn't like was the combat... I have the Wii version, so instead of pressing buttons to attack, you swing the wiimote and nunchuck. There's a bunch of combinations you can do, but they're practically impossible so you just end up swinging your arms wildly to attack.

Another more recent game that suuucks: Emergency Heroes for the Wii. My dad bought it cause he likes racing games. At the store I told him "don't do it dad, that game looks like crap, it probably sucks!"

It does, of course.

The whole game is just a fuckton of roads. You drive around and find emergencies to go to, then you save people. It's ridiculously easy. I haven't played it recently, but I do remember that the voice acting is horrendous.
