As a side note, those already exist. They're Archaebacteria though, and can't live without the extreme temperatures. They live in geisers, where temperatures can reach a few thousand degrees if I remember correctly. They're called thermophiles.

Eh? I don't recall yeast being particularly heat-resistant? They're also Fungi btw.

Compared to some people on this forum I have zero scientific knowledge but common sense tells me yeast must have some sort of heat-resistance seeing as it's used in baking bread (and seeing as it's baked it'd be hot).

Dough is heated to an optimum temperature to encourage the yeast to produce gases which make the dough rise and become bread.

High enough temperatures also kill yeast, though - IIRC the idea is to kill the yeast by the end of the baking process.
