Never have myself. They all turn out to usually be the strongest ones on my team unless I start training dragon types. I like most of the fire starters too much to drop them.

No Raylax, just...

Fast Ball - good against Cockfighting Society with high speed. Considering the majority of wild 'mon are in their first or second evolutionary form, very few of which have the required speed, the only things these are gonna be good against are legendaries

Wrong! A fast ball is good (4x catch rate) against any pokemon that can flee from battle. Speed doesn't play a part at all!

Heavy Ball - Catches heavy 'mon. So Snorlax. And, uh. ...moar Snorlax?

Works on any pokemon more than 200kg in weight. There's actually quite a lot of them.

Raylax wrote:
Level Ball - catch rate depends on the difference in level between you and your opponent. Nest Ball, basically.

The nest ball depends on the level of the opponent pokemon only. Quite a difference there.

Does anybody regularly use weather effects (Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Hail, Sandstorm) in their Pokemon movesets?

The problem with weather moves is you leave yourself open to attack for a whole turn.

Thoughts and opinions on weather moves?

They boost the type of attack by 50%. They pay off if you can survive for more than three turns, or you can switch to another pokemon of the type.
And, of course, they have extra effects such as charged Solar Beam and insta-hit Thunder. Which is why my Raikou knows it (and also because I have Suicune too).

I did for Pokemon Colosseum, but only because you can catch proper pokemon in that one that don't require 10 levels of training before they can beat a trainer in the same area. Instead, they're the same level as the trainer's pokemon, making things a heck lot easier for those of us who don't like grinding.

If you catch Pokemon at high levels they don't have the benefits of EVs.

So if you caught a Pokemon at level 100 it would have inferior stats to a Pokemon that had been caught at level 10 and 'grinded' up to level 100 - even if they had the same nature.

If Pokemon went back to its original state, I would forever be pop flyin'.

...did they ever have a Pokemon that was similar to a platypus?

I've always felt Psyduck was more of a platypus.

A duck has wings.

Platypi have arms.

Psyduck AND Golduck have arms.

:science:

Pageduck.

Platypuses have claws, different eyes, different beaks, fur, and a long bushy tail. They attack with deadly venom. Incidentally, they do not have arms, you numbnut!
Psyduck, on the other hand, is a duck. It looks like a duck, it quacks 'duck' and is even CLASSED as a duck in-game!

Also, the plural of platypus is platypi. Where the heck you got that from, I'll never know.

So Psyduck and Golduck can learn Fly?

Oh wait - they can't - BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE WINGS!

Yes but how dare Plasma deny my logic.

ARMS =/= DUCK.

Thank you, Deuce.

I thought nobody else was going to point it out.
