I need a new coat, my jakcet is full of holes and was shitty to begin with.

I was thinking of getting a trench coat (not a big wannabe detective/rapist one)

Any other suggestions for nice coats/jackets?

It's still too expensive for me to dress anything like a gentleman. I try and make up for it with nice looking cheep clothes. As of right now I am wearing a purple polo with a black skinny tie. Not dressed like a gentleman but, slowly working my way there.

I only have a few clothes that would be gentleman-ish.
Dress shirts, peacoat(before they became popular) and a vest.
If I could, I'd dress in a suit with tailcoats with a tophat monocle/cane combo every day.
Due to lack of funds I shan't be dressing in such a way for a long time.
Though when I strike it rich as a comedian I shall obtain all the gentleman clothing I'd ever want.

Men's clothing shops tend to be pretty bad these days. If you know where to look and what to look for, then it's not too hard to dress well and not look like a complete tool/chav ect. Being a ladyperson I don't know all that much about men's fashion apart from what I've seen, though I know of a good few suitors and tailors still around, Hugo Boss (very good for suits generally), Casely-Hayford (suits are nice but catwalk-type collections aren't so good), Austin Reed (very very nice suits), Cecil Gee (not even sure if they're still going!) and Aquascutum (if you have the cheddar).
All this I know mostly from my Dad when he was a dapper rich person working in London in the 60s so I'm not sure if these exist now or out of London at all.

Also Spoony, that's a great suit, fits nicely.
