Anyone have any info regarding improved router/Wi-Fi compatibility?

I'll get a 3DS if it means I can finally get online with my Pokemon.

More like broken in half, using the top half as a coaster since I don't want to throw it out.
The hinges cracked, I've fixed it before, but the last time, the wires got ripped, so the top screen stop working.

Oh, that happened to me before. Now I am very, very, very, very careful with my DS at school, constantly keeping a hand on it.

I have really deep pockets on my pair of pants. I've fit my DS, my phone, my keys, and my wallet all in one pocket. Its just uncomfortable to do so because my keys stab my thigh.

My brother on the other hand, he is at fault for breaking it. But I wasn't suprised, it lasted for 4 years.

My DS has lasted me since the original release in 2004 :V

Same. I got it with Nintendogs: Labs and friends.
I wonder where that game got too, along with Pokemon Blue Rescue Team, and Pokemon EoS.

Nintendo is saying "it'll be better durr" but I don't know what that means exactly.

Well, I've always been perplexed by the fact that my Wii can access my router with no problems, but my DS won't connect to anything that isn't set up with WEP security (except it won't even access my router when it's set up to use WEP, wtf?).

I hope at least the 3DS is as router-compatible as the Wii, if not more so.


But yeah, Nintendo are kinda being kinda cagey with that 'better Wi-Fi accessibility' thing.

Um, in case you don't know original DS and DSi games won't have any difference, just like DS games don't support WPA on the DSi, it's pretty obvious, the original DS software was never intended to access hardware that supports WPA. Similarly, you'll still need to use individual friend codes on old software.

The 3DS won't change anything about how original DS games work.

according to the man in HMV it'll now work with WPA and the friend code system is more like the xbox/360's, where swapping is easier and you can just send a like, challenge or something.

Actually Black and White were made with the wi fi extensions in mind.

Actually Black and White are DSi-augmented and therefore don't count as regular DS games.

I guess it'll be good, but I'm sort of disappointed by how quickly Cave Story became a cash cow. It'll have been released three times in, what, a bit under two years now?
