Late but
Gray Pikmin-Are able to glide when flung, can cross long distances and jump over gaps on their way back.
Gold Pikmin-Can light up areas and have the uncanny ability to find hidden treasure.
Black Pikmin-Any enemies that come near the Black Pikmin will be scared away, but because of this they usually scatter fellow Pikmin away from it.

how are fellow pikmin enemies? the concept is good but maybe something else for the con? maybe: scare enemies away, but arent able to latch on enemies?

I mean that the other pikmin are afraid of it to, so they wouldn't go near it.
Now that I think about it, yeah that's kinda stupid. So, maybe it's rare and/or you could only have one in your giant pikmin army?

Give the Black Pikmin an inky appearance and the ability to merge together into one large Super Pikmin. The disadvantage being that once merged they eventually shrink down back into a single regular sized Pikmin. Use up numbers for power.

Pikmin made out of petroleoum? that could work if you made them also extremely weak to fire. also, they explode and kill things close to them (enemies, pikmin and you)

Shorter, four long arms with tiny spines used to "hack" into the central nervous system.

If they get eaten by an enemy, they take control of their nervous system. Effectively making a Bulblin. Larger enemies require more parasites.

You can't extract the Pikmin from the enemy, so you lose them at the end of the day.
