Because let's face it, no one takes the middle ground for a CoD game.

WARNING! Rant incoming 8) .

In my opinion, mwf2>blops. I mean, you guys keep talking about how balanced it is, but they just removed perks, killstreaks, snipers and shotguns and now everyone just uses the couple of same weapons. That's hardly balancing is it? They did some good things too, I won't deny that. Grenade spam and noob tubing is reduced fairly effectively, without rendering those things completely useless.

But really, the complete nuclear nerf they did on the snipers was a bit too much. It's nearly impossible to get a good score with any of the sniper weapons. Sometimes we(I play on my friends PS3, since I don't have one) still take them for the lulz, but if we want a good score, just take an assault rifle or something and we're pretty much guaranteed top spot. The biggest problem with the snipers is the randomness in damage calculation: sometimes you'll shoot someone straight in the head with the sniper that's supposedly one shot and all you'll get is a hitmarker. I'm also sad they removed quickscoping from the game, as it was one of the most fun and rewarding, but also most difficult aspects of the game. I know it can be frustrating to get one-shotted at close range while you're carrying a close range meant weapon, but that person either got lucky, which won't happen twice, or has actually tried to become good at playing this game. And it's not like it's unrealistic, if I point my .50 rifle at your head from point blank, you're going to be dead.

They did made some good additions though, like co-op, which in my opinion, could be introduced at least 5 years ago, but I'm glad to see they got off their lazy asses and did it. Zombie mode is a blast, but I feel like they could have added some more variety to the enemies.

The biggest problem I have however, is the server instability. It just sucks balls. You'll sometimes spend more time waiting than playing the game or getting your perfect game dc'ed. But don't get my wrong, the game is still pretty fun, and I spent most of my vacation playing. I just feel like it had more potential than this and outside of zombies and co-op, Modern Warfare 2 is still the better game.

I know fully well you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that but

Not once did I go on MW2 without 1) getting killed by those bullshit G18s being dualwielded shooting two thousand bullets a second.
2) being knifed to hell by some guy with marathon, lightweight and the godawfulest of perks commando
3) getting grenaded to death by the guy with danger close and One man army.
And not really the game's fault but losing anything objective related because X1ImASc0p3rx3 and his 2 friends do nothing but jump off high ends in circles trying to get good footage for their shitty montages nobody wants to watch.

These are the issues that if they had just even bothered to change those things slightly, would've made MW2 one of the most enjoyable multiplayer experiences I've had. However the above coupled with the absolutely abysmal matchmaking on the PC made it drop severely on my like list.

Black Ops however on the PC feels absolutely fine to me apart from the fact that half of the SMG's feel useless, sniper's are more then fine if you know how to stay away from the most contested area's and actually you know, use it like a sniper rifle. And I now have about 6 reliable servers I can cycle through without fear of getting into a hacked game, or a game where the host is so terrible we're all moving matrix style.

But in order to not seem like a total douche, I do have to say that there are some things I preferred in MW2 as well. For one I loved dicking around with the riot shield when playing with mates, I liked that unlocking pro perks didnt require me to go play other gamemodes, and I prefer the way the guns sound in MW2 then I do in Black Ops, where half of them sound like I'm shooting peanuts. And that god damned Motion Sensor is bullshit since there is very little you can do against them. In MW2 you could counter Heartbeats with Ninja - in order to kill the sensors in BLops i'd have to go hacker and hardened and change my favorite perk.

Just wanted to get that out of my system.

End of my rant.

Yeah, of course MWF2 isn't a perfect game and that knife class was of course ridiculous, but it hardly was that much of a deal. And no matter the game, there are always going to be idiots on your team who screw it up, so they shouldn't really be taken into account. Also, maybe the matchmaking and such is better on the PC then, because I really think it sucks on PS3.

I can certainly see why people would prefer blops if they don't have to deal with the stability issues, but for me the sniping nerf ruins the fun of sniping. Main problems are
1. If you get close to mid-range you're fucked, no matter what you do.
2. Even if you're long range, if the guy has a LMG with an acog or something like that, he can just spray bullets in your general direction until you're dead.
3. The maps are extremely sniper unfriendly. You're basically forced to camp, because the few spots(on the few maps where there actually ARE spots) where you have a decent view and the range advantage are far between.

I never noticed any balancing problems with the G18 you mentioned.

If you don't snipe, then blops is a great game, but I still miss the satisfaction of single handedly dominating the other team and getting that nuke and stuff like that. But I can see where you're coming from, it just depends on your play style and what annoys you the most. I just hope Infinity Ward will make CODX sniper friendly again:P.

Oh, and get rid of the daisies RC-XD Hardline, it ruins Search and Destroy.

I'll agree with you that the maps on MW2 were mere reliable to snipe on and whatnot, I guess the camp-pop flyin' nature works in my favor cause I already memorized where people like to sit, and just immediatly point my gun at that corner when I come in. And flak jacket is the best perk ever for simply running into camprooms guarded by a claymore. Also the best defense against ye olde RC-XD since most people just run them beside you instead of in your face and hope it kills you.

Time and the world do not stand still. Change is the law of life. Those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.

A few changes hit today.

The AK74u's grip got a nerfed a bit. It has a bit more recoil now. The RC-XD got changed as well. Not sure how though. And lastly, if you get a person into second chance and someone else kills said person, you get the kill instead of them.

Did they buff it so that it's not completely useless anymore? That would be sweet.

I believe so. I don't remember anything about stats, just the "way they acted".

So, map pack. I got it just because it's almost worth it this time. And to be fair, the zombie map is pretty amazing.

ANYWAY, Paperbat and I just fucking marathoned Black Ops all day. He got rustled and lost his sanity. Pretty good day imo.
